I am wanting to add a two piece longbow to my arsenal in the new year. I have looked at lots of websites, contacted a few bowyers, and have narrowed down to a few choices. One I am considering is the caribow featherhorn. I really like the look of the grip and the available thumb rest. Abe gets bonus points simply for being Canadian.
I am not wanting a radical, super reflexed longbow. I do most of my hunting with a sky trophy, and do not want to depart too far from a d shape profile when strung. Abe has a few pics on his site, but I was wanting to see a few more, and hear from any current, happy owners.

My 64" Featherhorn is not a true D profile, but neither is it heavily reflexed. There is a very subtle hybrid nature to the profile, but I found it very acceptable...and I'm not a lover of obvious hybrid bow designs.
As for shooting? I can truly say that no longbow I've ever owned is a better shooting bow. The grip is very comfortable, and the thumb rest adds to repeatability in the hand position. I might add that this is definitely a fast longbow...my 64@28 bow smacks a fast arrow and hits extremely hard down-range. I don't think a better longbow exists for a travelling hunter. The 2-piece riser is slim and beautiful.
thanks for the review Kevin. I was really drawn to the grip, reminds me of the "Buddy Grip" on my old 21st century before Jim and Buddy sold the company. Loved the grip on that bow, just not as attracted to the radical hybrids anymore.
I'm totally with you on the radical hybrids. I've never been attracted to things that have an identity issue. ;)
The FH grip is simply superb for my hand. It's a long grip which I prefer for full heel contact, plus it just has that certain form and contour to it. I've only ever had one other bow that fit my hand so naturally. I can't seem to stop hunting with this bow.
It probably helps that Abe is a (fairly) nice guy to work with.... :thumbsup:
