I have had a blast since getting addicted to trad last spring. Months of practice has passed and deer season is upon me. It has been very rewarding making
my own bows, arrows, broadheads, and using trad gear to harvest game. I now feel like the complete predator!!! I will cherish these memories forever. Let their souls roam the heavens wild and free! Long Live the beast!!!

I have not had time to practice much with the longbow I built so I grabbed my TT, some woodies, grizzly bh's, and homemade bh's and hit the timber. I got in the stand that is on a finger of timber that separates two corn fields.

Off to a great start! Keep the story coming.
Great pic..keep it coming
:campfire:
The action started to pick up and I was seeing multiple nice bucks on the adjacent timberline. Before I knew it I had a nice doe at 10 yards. I drew back and sent a 160 grain grizzly right into her lungs. She took off like a bat out of hell, while I had to sit down so I would not fall out of stand from excitement. While I sat and prayed for a fast recovery a doe on the small side snuck up and was standing about 20 yards broadside. I let another
arrow go with a 160 grain homemade bh and it hit right behind shoulder quickly sending it to the ground.

Now the work begins filling my freezer and belly before I get my homemade longbow out in the timber.

The barbed and spear head are just for small game.
Awesome! They look finely crafted.
Thanks for sharing!
Todd
Great Story. Congrats!

Your having a great season....
Great Job!!!
Just had a big Iowa majestic 12 point at 20 yards this mourning. He was quartering to me a little so I passed on the shot. I wished him good luck as he walked away. It would of been nice to break in my longbow but I found great enjoyment in the results. My hunting buddies don't call me the doe slayer for nothing. :archer:
congrats a 1 job :clapper:
Congrats on the double!
