I dont suppose anyone has a cleaver trick to stop the sole of my hunting boot from squeaking when I walk?
I have a pair that squeaks as well, but I don't know how to fix it.
Pam cooking spray. While it can have slight scent issues, it's the best quick fix for a squeaky boot I've heard of.
I had a pair of R@@@y boots that began squeaking after a year or so. Tried a couple of oils, saddle soap, etc. What I eventually figured out was that the shank in the sole had become separated from the molded sole allowing it to move internally. I even tried using a large hypo needle to inject silicone into the void. Nothing worked. I ended up using them for work boots and buying new ones, of a different brand.
far rider, these re the same brand boots and the squeaking is coming from the middle of the sole so I bet im having the same problem with the shank.
Thanks guys for your help!
mine were squeaking too early in the season. it proved to be the sole insert, changed them and I was quiet as a mouse again... well a quiet mouse!

Exactly what far rider described.
My friend had a pair of r*d W**ng logging boots that did the same thing. Went to the store and talked to the manager and they said it happens and exchanged right there on the spot.
good luck
I've used foot powder in the boot for squeaking that comes within there, Skidmore's leather cream for outside squeaks, even used a syringe full of wd40 to poke a hole in one pair I loved but had an internal squeak in the sole.
I wear LL Bean boots exclusively. My old regular pair squeak, and so do the new thinsulate/gortex ones I bought this year. Powder doesn't help, and I don't use the inserts. A mystery.
I have a pair like that. I use Montana Pitch Blend. But its only a 1 day cure-Hap
When they squeak on stand (the rubber squeaking on the metal treestand) I have an old pair of wool socks, cut off to slip over my rubber bottoms.
I use Montana Pitch Blend on my leather boots too. It works for a while then you need to re-apply.
I have a pair of Danner Pronghorns that I dearly love and when the leather got to squeaking at the flex point on every step I took I took the laces out, cleaned the leather real good and rubbed down with Montana Pitch Blend. Problem solved ! Thanks for turning me on to MPB Joe Coots !
