Anybody ever use those mirror type of ground blinds ? Was wondering how they work and if they are worth it ?
If that's you in your avatar, I'd say you got a good thing going now!
Yes that is me but in warm weather it is to warm . Was just wondering about them mirrors . Might not be good in the wind . Could take flight ? :dunno:
I noticed those as well in the Three Rivers catalog. The images sure look convincing, but I wonder how they work with a deer in motion watching the background in one particular area moving backwards as they walk past.
here is a diy video on it..

I've had one for a couple years. They do work well. Set it up and walk out in front of it 20 yards, turn around and look for it. It takes a minute to find it. They disappear when set up in the right spot. Need a fairly flat spot to set up. With the tie downs the wind isn't an issue. I've had turkeys in front of it at 5 yards and never knew I was there until they circled behind me. You still have the movement of your top limb above the blind.
I believe that Mudd made his own. Do a search and you'll see how he did it. Looks pretty good to me.
The blind is angled out so it's only showing the ground in front of it.
They work! have had deer look right at mine and not notice it.
I handled them when I worked at Cabela's. While heavy and not super transport easy, they reflect everything and disappear into thin air. They disappeared on the carpet we displayed them on. The downside is they are somewhat heavy and bulky.
Is there a second part to the homemade version from the post above? Looks like a neat project.
Thanks, Terry
I think it would work great. But hate hauling in stuff. Might have to try one but leave it in a spot I have picked out for the season and leave it.

I like mine with the backpack bag they are very portable and I have had deer 15 yards in front of me and did not have a clue I was there. With the hammock seat you are set for an all day enjoyable experience.
I might make a small one for putting the Mohican sneak on turkeys!
