It's been about 20,000 members ago since I have had much of story to tell here..
Getting a young family going has taken most of my spare time these last few years but as most of you know, once you have experienced what this site is all about, traditional bowhunting, the fire in your soul is never put out. In my case the fire had burnt a piece of me gone but the good news is grabbing a stick bow and some arrows is a fast curing ointment for such burns..
I scrounged a back quiver full of out cast arrows, a fine Sunbear named "Bacote Bob" and made sure my arrows were grouping well. These arrows are mixed carbon, wood and aluminum. Some have broadheads, some have field points. Since I haven't shot a bow for a few years and since I had a whitetail hunt coming up, I limited myself to 15 yards max and it was a pleasure feeling a bow in my hands again.

Anyhow, Gauge and I set out for the North West Colorado whitetail woods.

It didn't take long until our quarry was found and stalked. There is the back of a whitetail right at the tip of my arrow if you look close enough. This turned out to be my first miss and ruined arrow..

But it was NOT! my last..

Anyhow, I missed 4 whitetails clean before I was able to connect. I got to about 8 or so yards and he was broadside. The Zwickey tipped 2216 passed clean though. Luckily there was a good bloodtrail because he jumped string a little and I hit him a little further back than I would like.

Had a great day and some awesome stump shooting as well. Gauge has a few more grey hairs since the last time we told a story but he is never far from me and like old wine, the older he gets the better he is.
These whitetails have tails so white they might as well be cotton...
