I generally like to buy stuff once and get it right the first time.
And usually that means more expensive. Most of my hunting clothes I end up wearing for years and years.
With that said, is Sitka clothing worth the asking price? I looked at some bibs and a jacket and I think each piece was over $300. So to get both I would be spending close to $700.
It gets pretty cold up here in the prairie and when we get a wind it is downright wicked.
It is tough for me cough up that kind coin for clothes when I could be getting a very nice new bow, or new limbs for my Blacktail or Pronghorn. It just seems way out of sack but to spend any serious amount of time in a stand here in ND in November, I know I need good stuff.
So, is Sitka gear what I should be looking of are there other options to consider?

I love it. I've been wearing the gear for now my 4th year. This morning I was in my tree stand with bibs, hoody core, & balaclava. I had the Stratus Jacket in my day-pack just in case.
I love the design, the fit, flexibility, pattern, and with thought, keeps me comfortable. The price is salty but I have yet to even pull a thread, bust a seam, or break a zipper. Some other brands don't get 1-2 hunts before it begins coming apart.
My only complaint is that many pieces in my size are out of stock by mid-summer every year.
Sitka is great stuff! Microtex is great too. Kuiuu is excellent if it fits you. Lotsa' choices and don't forget the Goodwill stores too.
I have a pair of early season Whitetail pants I really like, I wore them out Elk Hunting and worked great.
However, ND gets as cold or colder than MN with way below 0 wind chills and that in temps by late November and December. I really prefer my wool I bought twenty years ago for sitting long periods in the stand.
Sitka and Kuiuu is the best their is but I believe it was designed for the mountains and stalking more so than stand hunting.
For really cold get KOM ... you see it in the classified often enough to get a good buy ... just need to be patient
For that kinda dough I would look into a heater body suit for the real cold days and use the rest of the money for a less expensive hunting outfit for the not so cold days. $700 is a lot of money for one outfit.
Over the years, I have accumulated quite a bit of Sitka gear for about 50-60% of list price by looking out for sales, close outs, etc. It is definitely worth it, but pricey.
I am finding that, in many cases, it is well worth spending it the first time. However, not everybody can part with big cash at a given time in their lives, but might be better able to a bit later. We do the best we can with what we got, but yes, often the best is the best for a reason.

Yeah 700.00 would be hard coming out of the pocket for some camo. Plus I'm still waiting to hear someone say it will be as good as wool in N Dakota winter weather.
