Title: Dang wind!
Post by: centaur on November 01, 2013, 11:22:00 AM
Had a nice buck inside 20 yards this morning, and it was dead calm until.....right when I was able to begin a draw. Then I felt what we all don't want to feel at that time; the wind on the back of my head. It didn't take long for the buck to get the picture and leave in a big hurry, blowing and snorting.   :knothead:
Oh well, I didn't want the season to end just yet, anyhow.

Ha... keep at em pat! Some where there is a big 8pt with your name on him. Did you break that streak of 8pt harvests yet?

Sockrsblur,

The one this morning that didn't cooperate was a 4 x4, but I have laid eyes on one that looks like he might be a 6x6, so maybe I can get out of the 8 point rut, although that isn't the worst rut to be in!

Yeah, right. I really hate being in an 8-point rut   :)

Boy howdy, I hear you.  I called in a 12 pointer while hunting on the ground this morning ... About 15 yards or so, the wind swirled, it was over!   :banghead:

Bob.
