Title: Two Tracks Echo and The new Brown Glass. I like it!
Post by: 2treks on October 30, 2013, 07:49:00 AM
I had an Echo to build and the customer was cool with using the new brown glass that Gordon offers now. I like the looks a lot and will enjoy putting to use with some new combinations of wood.
This Echo has Amber actionboo limb cores with a Tempered Osage riser. Classic all the way.
Thanks for looking.
Let me know what you think.

Chuck,
Outstanding job on that echo.  You have your American longbow design nailed!!!  I love the combo.

I got the new brown glass on my new Berry bow and really like the looks also. I have a vixen with the dark brown glass and now the new lighter brown and I enjoy both colors.

Chuck,

Would you put the 2 shades of brown side by side for comparison?

I agree, you have the design of your Echo nailed.  I love mine and have a hard time putting it down!!!

Looks great Chuck!!  I like colored glass and had brown used in the Jess Stuart RMR knock off he built me.  I like following the trends as the demand has come full circle from colored to clear and back to colored glass.  Seems like more and more we are seeing classic colored glass from bowyers that never used it before.

Look great Charlie.  It looks like caramel on my screen.  Real nice looking on the Echo.

Yep, They call it Carmel I guess Rick.
Phil, I will try to do a side X side later for you.

Bobby, Thanks for chiming in. I prefer the colored glass  myself. Makes a very classic looking bow. Plenty of guys still like clear w/veneers though. I would like to use solids only but.....I do like to dazzle up some wood from time to time. You should see the stock Shrew I am sanding on right now

Thanks to the rest of you fine folks as well. I appreciate the comments.

Wow, Chuck, that is one sexy bow.  I like the fact that it is a 70 incher as well.  Great bow buddy.

Bob.

That brown would go so well with a wide variety of riser woods. I like it a lot, Chuck. Also, I'll be heady to the U.P. in 10 days with my Echo in hand, Chuck. We'll see if it's as effective on those "yooper" bucks as it was on the S.W. Mich. herd. I'm thinking..........YEP.

Nice bow Chuck!

What's your width and depth on your straight handles?

BTW, I shot Todd's Echo you reworked for him. It's whisper quiet. Just a ffffft when you release! Very nice Sir!

Wow! I really like that Chuck. I'm a clear glass guy but that would make me rethink things.

Hey Chuck,

I thought it was caramel also, but the caramel is almost beige, that is the new dark brown and the old brown is just brown(even tho it is darker than the new dark brown)

Confused? Me too!!

Here are the 3 colors...

From left-

dark brown-- brown -- caramel
