I thought I beat you to the punch..lol
Buddy I was trying to gig you with my thread but I guess it never hurts to tell a good story more than once.
God bless,Mudd
Bob that is a very good picture of Wi 'fall colors'
I can say I started the day off hunting with my buddy and fellow trad ganger Notso, The morning was cold with no deer seen and the wind would not cooperate. So, I went for a short walk. I got real lucky and walked up on a very nice 10 pointer. However, at 27 yards or so, the jig was up and he was off.
The evening hunt was real windy. I saw lots of turkeys and watched them roost. Then just before dusk a coyote trotted in and got to within 8 yards, but I had no shot. Then as he trotted off, I squeaked him to a stop just under a brush pile at 14 yards. My arrow looked good, but was deflected by an unseen branch and the arrow flew up and off its mark.
Then right at quitting time a deer ran by me with another coming behind.
Bob.
Argh! Type faster...
I WANT PICS!!gotta love red carpet treatment
cmon waiting.........
I'm guessing that you got another crack at that 10 pointer...... :dunno:
That looks like ten-pointer blood to me! Yep, I would recognize ten-pointer blood anywhere.

Definitely 10 pointer blood... No doubt
Haha! "Ten pointer blood" - I love that!
So a deer showed up right at Quitting time. The deer was a 8 yards, and I was on the ground, but had no shot. I waited and eventually the deer walked to the exact spot I missed the Coyote just a half hour before. I was using the arrows my nephews from California helped me to make.

( the black squiggly lines are flames ... " to make the arrow faster Uncle Bob".
I shot and saw the arrow disappear. There was a loud crack and the deer ran off ... I heard the deer crash within 10 seconds. After my daughter helped me track the deer ... I saw no hole in either side of the deer!
My arrow must have deflected on the exact same limb as the coyote shot. The arrow hit the brisket UNDER both legs and took out the heart and one lung. I can not believe my arrow got in there, I was sitting on the ground, the deer was broad side, yet I hit it under the body!

So I guess it is better to be lucky than good. I used the arrows my nephews made and still retrieved the deer even with a very unusual shot.
Sorry guys it is not a 10 point. This is the doe who has busted me for 3 weeks now.

  Congrats on your hunt and success.
Way to go, Congrats!
Congrats Bob. I guess she won't be busting you again. I've always said "it's better to be lucky than good..........it's a lot more consistent" ;) Good job.
Very nice doe!
Buck or doe, does not matter. You have meat in the freezer and it was done with traditional gear while sitting on the ground. That's 10 points in my book.
Great story. Congrats.

Good story Bob.
Great job Bob. Good to get the sly Doe out before she passes on all the "smarts" to the others.RC
Good job! And your nephew may be onto something with those arrows that shoot around obstacles. I may definitely need some of those!
Thanx for taking us along on your hunt, nice family effort and you have had an eventful season.
Nice deer......good job.........congrats.
thanks for sharing, great story!
Nice job!
Bank shot, off the glass and into the boiler room, much better shot then just an ordinary broadside dbl lung shot, :) Congrats!!
Nothing better than taking out the wise old slickhead that stirs all the rest of them up! A better trophy than even most bucks, and harder to kill, says I.

Great job Bob.
I'm happy it all worked out so well!!!
Wow...carbon arrows can`t do THAT!...bend around and strike from below!
Its amazing what position they can get in as they are exploding out of the area when they hear that bow go off. Congrats and looks to me like your 10 ring was unconventional but a 10 none the less.
Congrats!
Bisch
Very nice!!
Any deer from the ground is a trophy, Congrats !!!!
Lot of people around me know this saying. "It was just its time to die". The flip side of it is a miss " Its just not its day to die". I firmly believe that when its your time its your time. Today it was that deers day and what an awsome thing that you did it with an arrow that your nephew helped you make. Congrats.
Does are good too.
Congrats on a great hunt
