That's about how far it was stuck into the block target after going through.
Yeah, nice!
Wow. Would probablt have been a pass through on a deer. SHARP Snuffers are bad medicine.
Gotta love Snuffers!
Absolutely the Best!
What kind of arrow are you shooting and how did you get it that heavy.
Oh goody, I'm using the 125's this year
Roger Rothhaar knew what he was doing when he made the Big Ole Snuffer!
Whatever you do, DO NOT show your wife the picture of the critter parts on her patio furniture. She may use the snuffer on your shoulder blade! :biglaugh:
Only 2 blade heads can do that! NOT
For the question above ... I re-weighed to make sure. 45/60 CE Terminator cut 29" comes in at 316gr. + 269 for the head (125 adapter and 145 head (a grain missing somewhere)) actually comes in at 585gr.
Must've read the scale wrong last night.
Snuffers are a Big, Heavy Duty, Big Hole Making, Killing Machine!!!!!
They're an EXCELANT Broadhead!!!!!!!!!!
However, The problem with penetrating the shoulder blade, is that it is TOTALY encased in & surrounded by muscle, which acts as a shock absorber and retards penetration by absorbing the forward momentum of the head & arrow. Most good broadheads, will penetrate a shoulder blade if placed firmly against a target & shot at. I'm very interested in how you "placed" the shoulder blade against the target/backstop?????
Very COOL Thread!!!!!!!!!!
was the point filed down first? snuffers are simply awesome heads...
No doubt, a great head! However I suggest you stay away from the scapula on elk!

For the other questions above. I just stood it in front of a block target, and yes the tips are dubbed.
Nice!
Stupid question
Did you kill it? LOL
i am usin 160 pop can hole snuffer! You know its where you can plug the exit hole with a pop can.
AGAIN, The Snuffer is an AWESOME Broadhead!!!!!
Simply pointing out an observation... and not meaning to start anything!!! "food for thought" so to speak.....
Years ago, I had a compound buddy, shooting a 60-70# or so bow, with "whatever" carbon arrows, and this mechanical whatever unremembered name broadhead, that was supossed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. He showed me a shoulder blade he had shot & "blew right through!!!!!" I asked if he had another one??? He said yes, and went to the bonepile and handed it to me. We found an old foam couch pillow, and tied the shoulder blade in front of the pillow with a piece of string. We propped it up against the backstop, and I told him to go get his bow & shoot that one.....
The mechanical broadhead FAILED miserably!!!!!
So he say's OK Fred Bear! Let's see what that antique $hi+ of yours can do!!!!! So I get my 47" Grizzly, 50-55# DougFir arrow, tipped with a 125gr Zwickey Eskimo.....
The Zwickey BARELY made it to the back of the ferrule!!!!!
However... With alittle "workin' & wiggelin" I was able to get my broadhead out, touch it up, and put it back in my quiver!!!!! :bigsmyl:
Just one old Woodchucker's experiance.....
Actually, yes!
The arrow did not bother him one iota. He was so hot on a cow... I was able to redeem myself less than an hour later. Just lucky!!
The issue I have with these tests are they're not really conclusive.
First take the thin web of a green shoulder and most heads coming out of a well setup and tuned bow should bust through. Green shoulders are soft an in the right area thin on a whitetail.
You'll see quick in bobs pic not all critters are quality (ment equal LOL). At that point at least for someone not hunting say cape buff the test is inconclusive. The bow itself likely didn't have the energy to bust through regardless of head design for said amount of bone . Its like asking a kids rocket set to fly to the moon.
Now take a look at a any shoulder. You'll see very fast it's not created equal from edge to edge.
And lastly shot angle itself can play into how well even a good bow/ bh set penetrates or possibly doesn't.
Personally I think overall the heads a great head. Don't get me wrong here I'm not knocking it in the least ! I do own a bunch and considered them for bears and long beards but stuck with my Zwickeys for the time being. I think with a similar medium you'll find similar results from a lot of heads! (Out of a well tuned well setup bow!
No I will admit these tests are with out pause fun!
(sorry really need to reread before I post LOL!)
But don't shoot shoulder blades deliberately. No percentage in the shot.
