Went to ask the dog if it would be good this after noon. Did not have to ask My 75 foot garden hose was in five foot sections piled up for me. Nothing on the first two stands. Third stand ,started with the rabbit stuff. Then did some howls and some chatter barks and yips. A bit later a couple of dog death screams. At about 25 minutes I see movement way out there, he's coming in fast. At 100 yards it circles to my right and I lose it. I'm in a small ditch looking into a almond orchard. Then I see him at 75 yards or so running at me along the ditch bank I give him some squeeks and he's Running right on in. Draw the bow 30 yards 15 yards 10 feet The arrow hits him He turns and goes down. Talk about something happening fast.
Looking at him from the ditch.

Spent the rest of the afternoon scouting some new orchards that I was ask to hunt.
Awesome shot!!!!
  :archer:
Great shot....
You are some mystical creature to me...like a unicorn. I have always dreamt of killing a yote with one of my recurves. I finally did it a couple weeks ago. I killed 2 with 2 different bows. I was excited about that.
I see ur threads and now I have to raise my bar higher. Very Cool!! Thanks for the motivation!
Thumper, what kind of broadhead were ya using?
Tim,
You are the only person I know with a stunning track record on yotes using trad equipment. I hereby make a formal TG request for some how-to videos. Watching hunters pick them off at 300 yds. just doesn't do it for me...having one run up my backside would probably give me a nice warm feeling as I wet my pants! Bring it, I'm ready to help bankroll it, just let me know where to send the check!
Thumper, how difficult is the retrieval of your arrow going to be?
Great shooting BTW!!
Thanks for sharing!!
God bless,Mudd
Ya' brained him!
Great shot!
I've hunted yotes many times with rifles & even pistols but never my longbow. Frankly it never even crossed my mind.
You have inspired me to give it a shot.
:notworthy:
Sounds like a fun, fun hunt.
You always "close the deal" in fine fashion!
Hey, I'm with Olddog, I'd love to see a little video of your techniques.. Grab one of the kids to do the camera work and sit out in the back yard and do a demo of calls, camo and hunt tips..
Bet it would be the most viewed thread ever on TGang --- except for the HHill thread !
Love your posts..
Wow, would have love to seen that happen!
thanks for sharing....

I'd say the old ad, "Excedren headache #295" fits that one!
I loved that latter sentence, "checking out other orchards I've been ASKED TO HUNT!"
Seriously? Absolutely amazing! I guess when you're top dog, killing yodel dogs, folks come to you! Just imagining being ASKED to hunt anywhere, EVER!? :saywhat:

Sweet shot! I hadn't seen any post of dead yotes from you in a while glad to see your back at it! :notworthy:

Awesome, Can I come out and get some lessons, lol. Can't believe how you can take them out like you do! Seems like a endless supply of yotes there. This one takes the cake though. Gives a whole new meaning to heads up.
