The past couple of years my daughters have gotten into the habit of making me a good luck bracelet as the season rolls around. Its there little way of being there on some of the adventures. We spend a lot of time together in the woods and I love to see there enthusiasm, always rooting daddy on to bring home a deer. I really look forward to seeing what they'll come up with, and what hunter doesn't need some luck. Well this morning at 7:45 there lucky bracelet is paying off.

:coffee: Lets hear it!
I had this young fella come into work over a licking branch and ended up almost too close, a 3yd shot. Thats the closest I've ever been to an animal I've shot, I could see every detail on him, almost touch him. A Magnus 1 on a CX shaft out a Striker bow did its job. I'll let pics tell the rest of the story.

Hey buddy thats great! Great NY deer he will be tasty! Random question how did the Skyline Camo work? You said 3yd shot so must be good :) My Uncle gave me some of his Skyline and ive only wore it once. Im partial to Mossy Oak :D but like the look of the Skyline.

Congrats! Thanks for sharing your hunt.
Nice shot! I have that same cart and it makes such a difference when you have to take a good sized deer any distance.
congrats and a great job :clapper:
Very well done, in all aspects. Really liked the photo's and a nice looking deer to boot.

Thanks guys. 2 Blade I've had good luck with Skyline but I really don't get spotted much. I always hunt in cover so I don't think camo is as important. I could probably kill the same deer in street clothes. I'm usually in white pines, multiple trunk trees, or something similar to what I was in when i killed this buck...a hickory tree with tons of vine growth on the tree that offered tremendous back ground.
Tim I used to be a grunt it and get it done guy but since i bought that cart i always take the walk out and to grab it and come back for my deer.
congrats
Great story all around. I love the lucky bracelet "totem". Fantastic family connection.
A 3 yard shot! I think I could even make that. You have the concealment part down pretty good. Well done, love the cart.
Good story and pics!
Super cool story. Sounds like your daughters enjoy venison for supper..... :)
Hey Joe congratulations, maybe I need one of those bracelets to help me get a buck :bigsmyl:
Congrats and at 3 yards! Start selling those lucky bracelets on Trad Gang!
Very pretty deer. Since I started back traditional I have been setting up much lower and closer to my trails. I like it but I can't get lazy and not pay attention.
 Excellent :notworthy:
Nice story and a very nice buck! That bracelet certainly works!
