yestrday afternoon i was hunting 100 yards off a clover field. As usual the deer entered the field from other side. I decided to stay till dark and sneak out. However right before dark a truck or something spooked these 50 or so deer and they came charging out of 50 acre field right towards me in the woods!!!..Game on!!!! Big bachelor group of bucks was leading the way.. Well long story short, the buck i wanted came by too far away but 9 bucks....yes 9 bucks!!!!!!...spikes up to eight pt. stopped and stood under my tree and wandered up and down the trail i walked in on for 35 minutes.......now i walked down the trail with leather boots on....But.. i use Smokeys Coon Cover scent religiously....just like he says.... pour some on ground and dig my boots into it and take off walking........may freshen up every 100 yards..........these bucks were all in my wheel house for 30 minutes....never a foot stomp or blow.........I LOVE this stuff because it WORKS!!! and he is a sponsor here...check him out.
Wow! Cool experience!
50 deer? 50? WOW! Good luck Joey!
I know Jon ... it's wild. but Mississippi River bottomland......50 acres of beans and clover.....one group of bucks had over 20 in it....It's not the old Cottonwoods of Wensels but closet i'll get to something like that.
earlier in the season i had a big boar silver coon walk down a logging road from what i saw 60 yards in my footprints right up to my tree and started to climb till i dropped a fanny pack on him!!! he thought he was headed to a coon brothel!!
Idk what's up. My buddy put it over a mock scrape and the deer are not even using let alone comming up and sniff it. Idk what's going on. He is kinda stumped also
IDK Brad, Maybe the coon scent isnt for scrapes? :dunno:
Pretty neat experience Joey.

I've used the preorbital lure on licking branches for several years. I have photos of at least 20 different bucks, a lot of doe using it on one scrape that I started last year. I also have photos of bear and coons checking it out. Turkeys are using the scrape as a dusting bed regularly also.
