No, not in that sense...
Several days ago I found a used Howatt Bushmaster at a good price. I shot it at the store, liked it and bought it cheap. I love used bows! A few days ago my son (who works 6-7 days per week) tried it out. He stepped off our porch ( about 25 yards) and put his first arrow dead in the heart.
Cool! he said.
I haven't seen that bow since... :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
left my bow at home at lunch time yesterday, and had to go back and get it. Was tempted to sit in stand with out it, but the ruts a banging.
I know how you feel. In May of 1992 I bought two new bows from Jeff Massie. My son came down from Colorado to go javvie hunting with me. One of them went back to Colorado never to return to Texas.
I couldn't think of a better way to lose a bow.

Exactly - kind of WISH I'd lose a bow that way, but it's not my son's thing.
If you're going to loose a bow, that's the way to do it.
Lost a couple like that, just a good excuse to get another.
I like the way you guys think! Lol
i lost more than one to my son
I lost a pretty expensive bow by Lee at Keep It Simple Archery like that. Got the bow after he put a new finish on it as Gary Sentman had been shooting it the whole Summer. Beautiful bow with bamboo cores, osage veneer under clear glass on belly and black glass on back...and wooly mammoth ivory on limb tips. Bow is a real shooter....
Nephew was shooting an old Ben Pearson and asked to shoot my Noble Longbow...he loved it. Told him not for sale so he asked to shoot "Ol Man" and he smiled like kid on Christmas and asked if he could shoot it for a few days...said yes.
That was last February 2012...hahahaha
I lost one off the top of my truck after an afternoon hunt. Game biologist found it in the middle of the road and I got it back about a week later. Not a good way to lose a bow...but a happy ending.
Last summer my eldest somehow ended up with my "go to" bow, a 51lb, 21st century. It re-newed his interest it Trad archery. I can't think of a more honorable way to "lose" a bow.
Not a bow but I'm down one 12GA O/U to my daughter under similar circumstances.
I lost my black widow SA111 the same way I just made it official for my sons high school graduation in June! I also gave him a full membership on out bow only lease. Gotta pass it on.
Yep, I let my son shoot my favorite '63 DH Hunter in a big shoot a couple of years ago and he liked it so much and shot it so well I wound up giving it to him.
I got my first 2 recurves that way. Heck, he wasn't using them when I took em. ;)
Thanks Dad, for the bows and so many other wonderful gifts.
Trap
My DAS ILF with Winex limbs along with my favorite Loesch grip was 'lost' the same way, wonderful way to lose a bow and gain an :archer:

I prefer loosing arrows to loosing a bow. Who knows what will happen to it after you let it go.
I almost lost mine last weekend when I slid backwards down a hill into a lake. I had to make a snap decision whether to let go of my bow or chance a lake landing. Needless to say, I still have my bow along with some very wet clothing.
If my 4 year old Granddaughter had her way she would have one of my A&H longbows.Everything PaPa has she has to match.LOL Truth is if she could handle them, she would have one.
It is good to lose one that way.
I did lose a new bow once. I had a heart arythmia thing one evening while heading back to my car. I paniced and left my stuff so I could get back to my car and drive to where I had a cell phone connection. When I drove to the top of the hill my heart settled down. I rested a bit and then went back for my stuff, my quiver and Huntmor remained, but my longbow was gone.
about 10yrs ago I hung a strung bear polar I bought in the blanket swap in a tree in Coudersport PA on the side of Rt 6 near Denton hill and planned on going back the following year to see if it unstrung or if it changed at all and forgot about it but eventually forgot where we hung it and never went back,, so theres a lost bow out there near Rt 6.
Yep. I can relate. I "loaned" a new (to me) Massie Longhorn, Thunderhorn quiver and about 9 cedar arrows to my nephew about 8 years ago. Haven't seen it since. I just hope he still shoots it.
Me too. I lost a really sweet shooting Quinn Stallion to my brother in law. I get to see it once or twice a year, though.
That reminds me, I need to get him a new string.
Too funny
That's a wonderful sacrifice you just made! Maybe it's more like "The bow picks the Archer"?
