I slipped away from the house a little earlier than usual today. I wanted to go to a stand that I hadn't hunted this year and it required a 45 minute walk. As I walked to the stand I shot quite a few arrows in practice.
I crawled up the tree and waited and shortly before dark a crippled 8 point wandered through. He was gimpy in his right shoulder, guess he'd picked a fight with the wrong buck. He went on his way. Then right as dark was upon me a small group of pigs eased through the area, one was this midsized blonde boar. As he moved through an opening I shot. Was using my Northen Mist Shelton that's about 62 lbs at my draw and a 185 grain Grizzly on the end of my arrow. The bow drove the arrow through the tough old pig.
I was sure I heard him go down but I got on the blood trail and stayed with it for about 75 yards and saw him up ahead in my light. Always a welcome relief !

Post him up on Grizzly's facebook page if you would like. For every picture you post you get a chance in the broadhead drawing at the end of the month.

Pat, suuuurley that was a joke! Please do not stop posting your kills!
That's what this forum is about! Some of us have to live vicariously through you! :)
I was wondering if someone is keeping a tally. This is amazing!
Mr Pat is 100% correct several of the larger farmers and ranchers in our area actually pay bounties on the hogs. The hogs are a real problem in our area, the hogs tear fields up almost beyond repair in some cases. There has been countless automobile accidents that were hog related, even some fatalities. The hogs run out the native deer by sharing the same resources.
I had a sweet deal for several years in Bay City area. We got paid to hunt hogs with our dogs and every piece of pork was donated to the Victory Missions. It was a win win deal for all. Hogs are truly a problem here in Texas.
Yes I was totally kidding! Keep posting Pat. You are rockin' it.
You could set up a food bank with all that swine! Way to go!
I really want to be Pat when I grow up! Awesome job as usual and keep it up. Muy bien mi amigo.
