A few years ago, my dad told me about a fawn that would follow him around. Maybe it was a freak encounter so I wrote it off as coincidence. Then one day,I was in the woods by my dad's house and there she was. She was really friendly and dad would feed her some corn out of a bucket. A few days past and I got a call from my neighbor asking if I had seen his pet deer. I then realized why she was so friendly. She was found in a hay field at harvest time so my neighbor brought her home and raised her on goats milk. That was a few years ago. My neighbor feed her sweat feed and she grew much faster then the other deer. She has had three seasons of fawns and this year she has triplets. It's crazy walking to your stand and having her follow you through the woods. He fawns freak out and run off but she still knows me and will come to me if I call her name. I worried about her so my neighbor has a bright orange collar for her. She still goes home but spends most of her time on the farm between our two properties. Everyone in our area knows of her. It has been fun watching her travel patterns with the wild deer. I have only told a few folks outside my area. It brings up mixed thoughts and the DNR would frown on it but she can go were she wants and she will not go to strangers.

Until today. ;)
That's cool! I have a bunch of deer that come thru my yard and I hand feed them corn sometimes. They will come to within 8yds or so, but no closer. I have tried to get them to take the corn from my hand but they won't do it!

Growing up my dad's buddy had a turkey like that. Raised it from a chick and despite being a "wild turkey" would follow you around like a dog. Always one of the highlights of visiting with him as a young lad.
Cool story and pics.......
Hmmm maybe that's what I need. A double agent. Hap
Wow that is too cool.. A spy on the inside.. hahaha!

Now that's funny right there!
Wow! That is way cool!
That is very neat! I hope she lives a long life and raises a bunch of fawns.
Her sightings have likely brought joy to many.
Could you teach her to charm the big boys to come to your stand ?
very cool nice to have a companion like that around!!
That's cool but not so much for the deer. Her fear of man has been altered because of her upbringing and will probably tolerate their scent much more. A few idiots in the woods who will shoot her collar or not. Hope the best for her though.
Really cool. Keep watching out for her.
That's just great stuff.
I didn't have a pet deer but for 4 seasons I had a old radio collared doe that would find me ever year coming right to my tree. I passed on her just because she had to wear that collar plus it was fun seeing her...but she would also bring other deer along with her :)
Thank you for sharing the story.
thats really cool.
Deer whisperer... :biglaugh: .....that's pretty cool hope she's around for a long time..
That's pretty cool that she still breeds with the wild bucks. I need to raise up a little temptress like that! ha
I think I'd want more orange than that on her.
What a wonderful thing to have nature interface with us like that... my, my...
One favor, NS. If anything happens to her from some idjut, don't tell us!
We had one of our pet Does get loose. She had a tag in her ear. The DNR came out and put her down. Really ticked us off she wasn't hurting anyone and even had triplets the year before. I wouldn't let them know a thing about it. Really cool though.
That's really a neat story, thanks.

Great decoy! We had one just like that on our farm when I was a kid rescued her from barbed wire fence. Some idiot finally shot her we suspect she was around 3 years them dissapeared.
A nice breader and a great buck attractant.
Very cool story.
