I know there are lots of variables other than looking at charts but.....after consulting some of you guys here, doing lots of other searches and plugging lots of numbers into stu's arrow spine chart ive come up with what I think i'll try:
40#@28 Samick SAGE(cut 3/16 off center)
Draw Length: 28.25 in.
Gold Tip:Traditional 1535 cut to 29"
50 gr wt up front
50 gr wt nock end
145 grain broadhead/point
3-5" feathers
FF string
This will give me(according to calculator):
475 grain total arrow wt.
11.7 GPP
14.4% FOC
167 FPS
29.4 ft/lbs
Not taking in some minor changes here or there, does this seem reasonable?I thought of using the 3555 but have heard they run pretty stiff and dont want to end up putting a ton of weight up front.Opinions/suggestions appreciated!!
Sounds fine. I use a 1535 out of my 41# JOURNEYMAN longbow with 175up front or 50 gr brass inserts and 125s and seems to do the trick!
I have a 45# SAge and shoot 575gr total, and 31" arrows, my draw is around 30", but i only draw 28" on the Sage. arrows fly swiftly. 13+ gpp
My set up 40#@30" 64" Cyclone longbow, with wood arrows total wt.480, 130 Grizzly 153 fps. Works like a charm.
