I'm a believer in my thermacell. It has worked miraculously for me... until tonight... when I learned not to try and stretch that pad too far.
It wasn't white... just real light blue, so I thought it would be ok.
But right about now I'm white from blood loss.
Moral of the story - carry an extra pad with you if you're going to rely on the thermacell!!!

My wife bought one of those things and I thought it was another gimmick. Have to eat crow and admit the darn things work like a charm though, so now I have one too. Best bet is to put a new pad in every time out...
Get the carrying case. It has pockets on either side for spare pads and fuel, and a strap with buckle for securing it to things.

Also....when you're finished using the Thermacell and the pad still looks useable, take the pad out and place it back in the foil pouch, fold the pouch over and stick a piece of tape or something on it to keep it sealed.
I always carry pleanty of new pads in my fanny pak and an extra Butane cartridge. Last Christmas a neighbor bought me one of the carrying cases so I've started using that this year (last night). Saves space in my fanny pak, and easier to keep a check on supplies. Ah luvs mah Thermacell!
LOL TOO FUNNY!!! Nothing like blood transfusion via mosquito!
I have not hunted yet but in all my scouting I could have walked around w/out my shirt and never been bit?? Now around the house they were bad, but the woods were free of them.
Now with this little storm coming through today will wet the woods and they will be everywhere!
My luck
