Title: Saxon American Recurve FF compatible?
Post by: bucksbuouy on October 12, 2013, 10:33:00 AM
Hello everyone I just got my hands on a used Saxon American recurve. It came with a plain jane dacron string and I was wondering if anyone knew if these were FF compatible? I can't seem to find any info on it.

You may want to send a photo to the folks that sell them "oldbow dot com". I've got an American Longbow that I was told was compatible and I've had no problems.

I don't think the one I had was. There is only a two layer wood tip overlay.

I have one 58" and 64# and it is not FF compatible.  However. it shoots fine with B50 strings.

my American longbow wasn't or lets say Randy said he didn't warranty it,,, also my fathers saxon American recurve has a B-50..     but If I still had one I'd try one of those padded loop strings but I might not go to thin on the strands at first.

Thanks for all the responses. It does have a three layer tip of 2 different woods and what appears to be black plastic.I can only assume its either black fiberglass or phenolic. Does anyone know?
