I just got off the phone from ordering a custom Whip. 64", 56# at 29 1/2". It will have a Cocobolo Riser with Myrtle limbs and Sheep horn tips! can't wait!
He makes great bows. Sounds like some great choices on wood and with the sheep horn tips it should be stunning. Congrats making the move!
Make sure you tell Dan you want the dark dirty Myrtle. He has lighter stuff and the dark stuff that's sweet. Great bows those 64" Whips, you'll love it.
Can't wait to see some pics,im sure you will be more than happy with this bow
You are gonna love it!Great choice.
Thanks guys! It was a toss up between the Myrtle and Juniper. Dan said he had some beautiful Myrtle so I told him to go with that.
His myrtle is great stuff. Can't go wrong with a coco riser!!!
The Toelkes are great craftsman! You picked a great combo! Especially with those tips.
Here is a just made Cocobolo riser Super D by Dan and Jared. (http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii498/tzolkosky/IMG_20131009_212336_925_zpsc84d69b4.jpg)

I have a very similar bow Seth, you will love it.
Very nice! The 64" Whip is a great shooting bow. At that draw length it oughta be a real performer!
Gorgeous riser tzolk! I was shocked when I asked about the horn tips and he said he would do sheep horn for no extra charge!
I can't wait for you to get it!!!!! I will have a new bow to shoot!!!! :bigsmyl:
Seth is a great friend of mine that I have been working on for years to try traditional.......he finally took the plunge a little over a year. He has become a very good shot in a short amount of time, I am excited for him in his first custom bow purchase.
David
Congrats. I love Toelke bows too!
Good thing I ordered it heavier than you shoot Dave! I may never see it again!
Congrats. Dan and Jared make some of the best out there. They are great folks with a wealth of info for us.

Seth, Great bow from an couple of talented people. You will enjoy her.
Congrats, you're going to have a wonderful bow that will last a lifetime.
Here's Dan and Jared's horn tips. That's wavy Myrtle for the limb. Getting excited? I bet, but you won't have to wait too long. They are quick! (http://i1256.photobucket.com/albums/ii498/tzolkosky/IMG_20131010_065249_254_zps1556e21d.jpg)

Yep, i ordered one early last week and it will probably make it here before November. They are quick and great at their craft.
I figure I can still stop by your house and pick up the package tomorrow before I go to the Sox game, then I'll just drop it off at the shop for you on Thursday or Friday. That should work for you shouldn't it? :bigsmyl:
David
Congrats on the new bow, be sure to post pics once you get it.
I think about the Whip every day. In the New Year, I'm gonna do it. So many good comments here on them.
Dan's turnaround time is always great. He rarely takes more than 2 weeks to ship a bow and his/Jared's workmanship is epic. Congrats on your new bow. Great shoot'in to ya.
I have it from a good source, (Seth), that someone is shooting a new Whip as I type this...........I think that calls for pictures. He can't leave you all hanging, can he?
David
(Hopefully I'll shoot it in the next day or two too!)

Thankfully, My Whip was delivered to the shop and not my house. It would have been a long day knowing it was sitting at home! Or worse, in the hands of Kretschmar!
I could not be happier with how it came out? The Myrtle is beautifully figured and the Cocobolo really sets it off!The Bighorn sheep tips are the icing!

It shoots even better than it looks. My first shot was about 4" high-left. My next five were in about a 3" group, exactly where I was looking! I believe, I am already shooting it better than the recurve I've been shooting for a year! It is ridiculously quiet! It also seems to draw smoother than my recurve even though it's 4# heavier. The entire Toelke experience has been amazing! I can't believe I am shooting this work of art, two weeks after ordering it!
Enjoy man! My first longbow was from Dan and I'll never part with it. Shot my first trad buck with that bow!
They are great people to deal with too.
Beauty
Beautiful woods. Classy bow.
Very very classy!
Nice thing is I'll bet it shoots as good or better than it looks!
Congrats Seth...that's a beautiful bow, good luck with it...looks like you had a good teacher, David taught you well..LOL
Thanks guys! I can't believe how this bow shoots! I thought I was shooting fairly well before. but in 12 hours time, I'm shooting this bow better!
Great looking bow with a reputation of excellence, enjoy.
What a looker! I got a whip earlier this year and fell in love all over again.....my son claimed it for a bit, but decided on my shorter curve instead, so now it's all mine again!! One would be hard pressed to find a better bow out there.
You are killing me. I have a T/D in the mail and another due in two weeks. Shipping to Alaska adds a couple days and I am wanting to camp out at the post office till the bow arrives.
Pictures do not do this bow justice, you need to see it in person to appreciate it. And it is stupid quiet.......great bow.
I believe we will be seeing hero pics with Seth and this bow in the not too distant future.
David
It will be worth the wait! I am very surprised with the speed also. I chrono'd it at the shop this morning. My 575 grain Heritage shot 182fps!
