Was hunting this evening and as my mind wandered I , remembered a guy that I used to shoot with back in the mid 1970's . He would use duct tape on his fingers while he hunted so as not to take his shooting glove with him . Has any body else ever heard of this or even tried it ? I have not tried it myself but it might work . Thought I would share this with you , might be a laugh or might be worth a try .
never tried it personally. But its good to know.
Thanks for sharing, I love tips and suggestions like this.
Why wouldn't he take his shooting glove? Duct tape may be good in a pinch. In fact I'm sure for now more than 1-2 shots it would work fine. I'm just curious why? Unless he forgot or lost his glove....
I've used camo duct tape around my bow arm to keep the loose clothing out of the way. But not on my fingers. Interesting...

another use for duct tape I love it.
I love duct tape. Is there anytthing it can't do?
If duct tape can't fix it, you really don't need it!
Duct tape=Red :archer: neck shooting glove
Was his name Red Green?
I dont need any thing to take one shot
if i forget my finger tab i just use Bare fingers no big deal try it its fun for about 12 shots :biglaugh:
People in the know have gone to Gorilla tape and Gorilla glue for all of their redneck quick fixes, (as in my basement shower, where I dropped a pipe wrench and cracked the shower base), duct tape is old school.
I never use anything,no gloves on the string as long as I can remember.

wow, you mean never, not just for hunting? you shoot like that all the time?
truckfarmer..No gloves are those rubber bumpers that people put on strings to keep from using a glove. I think that's what swamper is talking about. A LOT tougher than I am if I'm wrong...lol
I haven't tried it on my hunting bow yet but I use peep sight tubing for a wheeley bow on my fishing bow and shoot bare fingered. I just put a small section over my serving and it works great to protect my fingers. I just pull it over the end with a bobbie pin like you would a brush button or the no gloves.

haven't used duct tape but have used athletic tape under my regular camo gloves with good results.
