You are bout 60-70 miles east of me, the bucks here are sparring lightly, don't forget to rattle a little if nothing is happening!
Good luck Ron
Lot's of luck. Have a good time and don't kill all the deer! ;)
Have a great hunt. I know once you do this you will be back every year. Good luck and shoot straight- many times with the amount of tags you can get.
Good luck!
Good luck Ron, keep us posted on how thing go.
Just a reminder MO requires you show a hunters safety card to purchase a license. Might be based on your age, but I was there when I was 42 and they made it clear, no card, no license. Good luck to you guys, hope you have a fun/safe trip.
Good luck guys :readit:
Never tried much rattle'n around this neck of the woods, but I'll throw my horns in and I may give it a try......man, that would be cool to call one in.

I have been seeing bucks spar a bit and I witnessed a buck run a littler guy off. Some say to early, I say a little light rattling wont hurt. My buddy grunted a buck in to 7 yards a few nights ago. he didnt blind grunt, but saw him feeding a grunted softly twice and the buck came right in! Go for it!
Good luck Ron.
We are on the road in a bit over an hour.....I hope to have great tails to tell in a week. Thanks for all positive wishes and I hope we can hold up our end......
Have a great time! This is it Ron, no pressure :bigsmyl:

Good luck Ron!
Has anyone heard from Ron and the guys? :dunno:
Well the 18 hour drive home is over, I had a few hours sleep and all is good. We had a great time. Didn't see as many deer as we thought [ to warm?] but game was seen and shots taken. I was concerned about hunting in a antler res. area but did see a legal buck and after deciding that he was legal took the shot and promptly missed him clean. Gary in our group took a nice doe. Ken and Jeff saw some game but no shots were taken. Turkeys, coyotes and tree rats were also seen. Learned a lot, what great deer habitat.
Now to the story of my miss......We found a good bit of sign in a dry creek bottom where a tractor path crossed. Good tracks in both directions and wind would be good. So Ken [KAT] and I flipped a coin and I won the sit. Got to the spot at 3:45 and trimmed a few things to give me 3 shooting lanes. I set up my Waldrop Pac seat put on my leafy suit top and face mask a got comfortable......... :campfire:
After things got calmed down the normal parade of Blue Jays and Chickadees kept me on my toes and then things got slow. At 5:15 with the wind in my face I caught a bit of movement to my left.....horns!!!! The wind was in my face and I watched the deer move into the zone. It has to have 4 on one side I tell myself....it looks like a 6 point. At 20 yards he is behind a small willow and I see no brow tines. He steps into the center lane and can only see 6 pts.,3 on a side.
sounds like you had fun Ron
Now the buck steps forward and then turns around. I can see he has 4 on one side, no wait he's a 4x5...Green light!! He starts to leave and I see a window to shoot thru...... I draw and center the window of opportunity I see him enter and I release. Just a nano second to soon and I whatch the arrow go right in front of his brisket and into the creek bank........I missed clean. It's been a long time since my last shot and even with a miss what a feeling!
I really was amazed at the terrain out there in Missouri. Hardwood fingers, creek bottoms, good mast crop, corn, soy beans, green fields.......Deer heaven......LOL!! I feel that I will return!
Great Stuff Ron. :clapper:
Its nice to get the old ticker going with something other than excercise. :biglaugh:
Sounds like you all had a good time....game was seen and shots were taken..... excellent..
Sorry for the miss Ron. Glad that you had an opportunity. I hope you all had a fun and memorable trip
Sounds like you had a good hunting trip. Some ups and downs and all home safely, nice work.
Did Jeff see anything? I know he didnt shoot, but did he see anything? I would hate to wait until Late January to hear his adventure.
Sounds great! It always feels great to get some shooting!
Sound like a good trip and glad you got an opportunity Brother. Wish the end result would have been better.
Sounds like a good time was had by all, glad you got home safe.
Tom
i will be headed to missouri in about 2.5 weeks for a week ling hunt. never hunted there or been there. souds like ya'll had a good time.
Jeff saw the most deer, with 3 or 4 bucks. The deer I missed went by him at a distance. He also saw turkeys and a pair of yote's. B-Dog best of luck, should be cooler weather.
