On my way to a deer stand I slipped up on a little group of shoats and thought, why not..
I was able to get within 25 yards and shot this little fella with a 185 Grizzly -- she didn't last long.. Decided that I would go sit for an hour then come out and grab the pig..

On my walk out I shinned a coon up in a tree and plunked him with a blunt. He came crashing down and I had to give him another dose of blunt to for him to settle down..

Looks like a good day. That coon is beautiful and that's a prime pelt.
I'd love to get a line of those!!
Good thing Texas is big the way you hunt! Congrats!

Nice job! I got a consolation groundhog yesterday evening myself, after giving up on the whitetails. Saw three sibling raccoons mooching corn, but could not remember whether they were in season, so I passed.
Sweet!
Good job Pat. I talked with a coon a few minutes yesterday. Our coon season is not in yet.RC
