Hey gang, I'm going to hunt javelina here in NM this January and I could use some help getting pointed in the right direction. I have a tag along with two buddies (new to javelina hunting) for the boot-heel areas. Does anyone have advice on where to focus my scouting? I've hunted javelina for many years in Arizona with a lot of success; but this is my first time here. I'm certainly not looking to crash your camp or take over your hot spot; I'm just hoping to get the most of the few days I have to hunt while the military has me stationed here. Thanks for the help.
I was wondering the same thing.
I have never hunted Javalina but there are loads of left over tags available. Thought I might try my hand at it.
Up for another try...
Look out for the illegals!!!
down around the floridas near demming is good
Thanks man, I'll give that a look. Any more inputs?
Up.
I will second the Florida Mts. Area. Don't be afraid to contact wildlife officers(fish and game etc). They will help. Sometimes there are ranchers that leave their phone numbers for contacts and want rid of them. Been soooo close. 2 misses under my belt. One time on ranch land, the other on blm.. The rancher let us hunt free.
Also there's a pecan farm west of Demming, north of the floridas...lots do sign when I was there last.
Thank you, I'll try that.
