Had some bad luck as of late. My bear hunt in Maine left me doubting my shooting. Yesterday helped get my confidence back.
I only have one day off a week so I headed the woods for the day. It is very dry here so I did not know what I'd find in the way of sign. Turned out not much. I did find some acorns and beech nuts falling so I decided to camp out for a while.
About 2 hours into my sit a group moved in but was on the wrong side of a water hole. Only shot would be about 30 yds. Shot was good and he didn't go far. Getting him out was another story. Winch on my 4 wheeler did not work. Getting a 220 lb hog on it was not easy. My back is killing me today.
Bow was my Big Jim Bighorn recurve, 50@28, Arrow dynamic trad lites with bear broad head
PS on the arrow dynamics, Terry has said numerous times to use them. I finally bought a dozen..... holly freaking shmolly, they are incredible!!!!!. Shoots great out of all my bows from 43#-53#. I can not say how impressed I am with them.

Hey, on those big pigs throw a rope over a tree limb and use the 4 wheeler to hoist him up. Tie the rope off then back the buggy under the pig..
Lots earier than wrestling those big fellas by hand.
