I am working on a little project and thus I am curious if anyone has an idea of how many stands are sold per year?
Thanks,
James

I dont' think there is anyway possible to compute that. You could contact each manufacturer but I doubt they would release sales figures.

lots
maybe the tree stand manufacturers association could help

Its half as many as whats stolen.

HA! Good one r-man....
I tried the TMA but their site seems to be down and the phone would not go through.
Thanks,

You could try contacting a "local" Small Business Development Center to see if they can get stats for that industry.

Any kind of tree stand? Climber, ladder stand, strap-on ??

I finally got in touch with the Treestand Manufacturers Association and the guy there said they sell between 1M and 1.5M per year. That is a huge number and way more than I would have expected. He did not know how it broke down betwen climbers, ladders, hang-on, etc.
He was not too hopeful of the prospects of trying to sell treestands as the insurance almost makes it prohibitive. He said it was from $100k to $1M per year depending on the size of the company.
Not that anyone was interested in this stuff but --- now you know.
Cheers,
James
