I'm looking at either buying or making a hard case tube for a 64" take down big Jim buff I have coming. I'm looking at the 3 rivers LB TD case, anyone have experience with a bow in my specs with this case? I'm wondering how good of a fit it would be.
I would say build it.Lot cheaper and just as good
I've used just PVC and also the fishing rod carriers that expand.
Got a couple of those in the shop that could use a new home but you live too far from me.
As of about 2 months ago, I'm the manufacturer of the case you mentioned. After working with the older gentleman for years who has done them, he was ready to retire (for the second time) and I was able to get the business from him.
Anyway, I know I'm a little biased, but these cases are far and above what most people can make in their shop. The cases have a 3000 pound crush test, plus they look great, have a carry handle, cushioned interior, and zippered caps.
I also sell them direct (at a better price, too) without the 3 rivers logo. I'm in the process of setting up a website for ordering, but feel free to call, email, or message me. jonlaflin@gmail.com 406-334-1258
I have several different types, but my go to is a take down shotgun hard case. I got it from Academy for around $50. It will hold two bows easy, and offer unlimited protection.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Not sold on which route to go yet. Any ideas on dimensions given my bow?
I use the safari tuff zippered soft cases. They fit in my suitcase and offer an ample amount of protection without being too bulky. We have them available on our site too.
thanks, bigjim
Thanks Jim. I'm driving most of the time but I like to be able to throw it in the back seat without worrying about it getting scratched or smashed. How long is the longer piece of the 64" TD? 34-35"?
It's probably about 35"s. Don't have one in the house to measure but that would be real close.
thanks, bigjim
Thanks Jim.
