I was scouting one of my leases yesterday. I just wanted to see if the oaks were dropping yet...and they weren't. So I took off around a trail on the property that I have never looked at before. I saw three bucks along that trail....one of em was a MONSTER! It was mid-day and they were all bedded down. None of them spooked badly, just hopped up and eased off into the thickest of the canes.
I plan to be in the midst of that growed up mess and up a tree about an hour before daylight in the morning. I've got my fingers crossed.
