Title: Alternate ways to make strings?
Post by: William F. Adams on September 26, 2013, 07:02:00 AM
I've tried Flemish splice, w/ a bit of success, but for some reason, making them doesn't appeal to me (though I love how they look and use one on my green stripe Bear Custom Kodiak T/D.

I made an endless loop string jig and have made a few strings w/ it successfully, but the jig is large and awkward to get out.

Apparently the Lazer Loop string 3 Rivers sells is ``just'' an endless loop made long so it can be twisted w/ 2 colors of string (doesn't that twist the limbs?).

I'm planning on making a traditional 3 part, knotted string for my Kaya KTB, but...

Are there other methods which are easier? Any new techniques which modern string materials make possible? I'm working on a kid's bow and would like to try something different.
