I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem. It seems that I have to test and use atleast a few different heads each year. I don't have any intention to collect any of them. It just seems I always have a new favorite and like them all. Most have preformed well and some have performed very well but I'm always on the search for another to try.
So far I have hunted 2 models of Simmons, 3 models of Steel Force, Muzzy, Thunderhead, Satellite, older Grizzly's, Snuffers, 4 models of Zwickey, HI Percision, 2 models of VPA, ACE, Stingers and Buzz cuts.
I guess it's cheaper than testing different bows every year! :D
I tend to be just the opposite. I don't like change. It was hard for me to try the VPA. I like them but haven't connected yet with them.
you sound like me with knives and flahlights!
But with Broadheads i tend to just stick with one style. I have tried many over the years but settled on the ones i like best and just stick with them.
I can totally understand wanting to try a bunch of them and allways looking for the next best thing. Like i said i di that same thing with knives and lights. Its an addiction!
All I shoot are my German Kinetic heads. I found a combination that works great a d don't change anything!
Bisch
I used to do the same until I tried Simmons Tree Sharks.
LB hntr I know what you mean about knives and flashlights. A man can never have to many of either.
I have one primary weapon for each season that I have put a lot of effort in finding the "one" but when it comes to broadheads, knives, flashlights or even hunting/backpacking packs I can always use another. :banghead:
Try a zephyr Sasquatch. I have had good luck with them and vpa terminators.
I am kind of in the middle I'll tinker with something if I actually think I may be able to get it sharper or use it better but not to the point of trying every new head out there. I've tried a few and have really come almost full circle to what I started hunting with almost 9 years ago zwickey deltas except now I am using the 4 blades.
so many choices..!

X-2
Never tried Stos??
I have tried several others but at the moment I'm pretty stuck on the stos heads. I would like to try some Simmons as well though.
I think I have a package of just about every brand....
I don't change around very much. I tend to use Magnus and Zwickie almost exclusively.
Heck, I have that problem with everything!
I have a bunch of STOS and snuffers. I stick with them. I might switch to something else if I ever run out of what I have, but like I said, I have a bunch. I might be dead first.
I have the sickness too. However, I'm getting pretty stuck on Simmons and Zwickey deltas. I like a woodsman for a 3 blade and Stos too.
Rob, I admit, I have the same "affliction" also! Its all good! Have fun, life is too short to only shoot one broadhead when there are so many good ones out there. :archer:
I have the same problem with broadheads and flashlights. I'm trying to make myself settle to just Tigersharks and VPA 3 blades but I have to try the new Grizzlys this year.
I really like Woodsman Elites and VPA three blade heads in the heavier non-vented versions. They're very easy to sharpen and fly great for me. One of these days I'd like to explore some of the good two blade heads available.
yea i want to try them ALLLLLLLLL
I have the same problem I have shot deer with Magnus stingers,Magnus I , snuffers,STOS, grizzlys, zwickys, I like trying them all
I'm on the same page as Bisch except my best performing head has been the Razorcap.
started using sharks in 98 and settled into them by 02 - I don't lose animals and blood trailing is fun with abundant sign even my old eyes can see. I have tons a heads that have been mailed here and given to us to test but I would rather buy sharks :)

Yea. It's crazy. Iam cleaning house. Just sold a bunch and will be putting a bunch of Razorcaps up soon. I have WAY too many. Bill
300 extemes and 300 gr VPA are all that I use. Both 3 blade heads.
I have killed deer with Woodsman and Snuffers, but after watching a Zwickey Delta zip through a nice buck at 22 yards from my little 46# Kanati, then seeing the damage one does to a turkey, I'm a two blade guy.
I was intrigued by the massive blood trails guys seem to get with Simmons broadheads, so this year I am shooting some Tiger Sharks. I have the Deltas ready to go too though.
Argh! I had my mind made up on using woodsmans. Now I'm thinking about packing a few bear razorheads too. I can't decide!

I've bought a couple different heads since returning to curves in 2010 (Silver Flames and Magnus) but I have only used the Helix (3 different weights) these past 3 and current season. Killed number 6 this morning with em. Went through near shoulder and broke the far shoulder ... 70 yard recovery.
I love the variety that traditional archery offers. Not just in broadheads but pretty well every aspect of it.
I plan on trying out some new Grizzy's and Stos soon. Right now the Ace express heads are in my quiver waiting for next Tues. :archer2:
It`s all good. I did the same thing many years ago. (when the things were cheaper to experiment with)
Through it all I did learn alot. I settled years ago on any WIDE two edge that is easy to sharpen.
With the wide two blades, you must shoot a tuned arrow...other than that just get them sharp and they will take care of your blood letting needs.
For many of us, they experimentation is how we customize our archery in order to customize our enjoyment.
I usually stick to the classics like Zwicky Delta's or Deadheads but do like the STOS heads and My go to head will always be a Delta! Tried lots of others but this head is tried and true!
Agreed Rob. I've tried quit a few myself. I've found that I like the ones that are easy to get really sharp the best though.
I'm a Grizzly man myself... Shot the old ones for years but Bill's new heads are the GREATEST! My tinkering is with arrow spine... Then I adjust my Grizzly broadhead accordingly! What a curious lot we trad hunter's are... Trying to perfect our individual kit!

There sure is a great bunch of heads out there,i've been wanting to try some of them. But it hasn't happened yet,i wind up every year shooting the same heads.Been shooting the Grizzly's Zwicky's and the small deadheads for many years. And they have never let me down yet.
I have used Zwickey Black Diamond Eskimo 2 blade for years , they hit exactly where my field points do . They are not hard to find , very durable and not hard to sharpen . If it's not broke , don't fix it .
Yea I have it. I have some zwickeys they worked. Got some muzzy phantoms they cut a really nice hole but I was not really good at sharpening them then. So I got some snuffers easy to sharpen and cut good. But wait those sasquatches look like they would cut a really big hole and do. I have a bear razorhead that is begging to get bloody. What to do? Gonna need a bigger quiver so I can carry them all and just do luck of the draw.
Been down that road Rob...now I dig out my old Bear Razorheads and just use those..
