Deer season starts on the 28th, I'm excited!
Until then I'm a pig hunter. I walked about a mile to a stand that I had seen a mid sized boar hanging around. The stand is only a dozen feet up the tree and I crawled up as quietly as possible.
I'd been there about 1/2 hour when I heard a stick break about 40 yards back in the woods. Then it got quiet again for a bit and suddenly there he was. How he got there I don't know, it was like he just appeared outa thin air.. Don't suppose I was day dreaming ?? He turned and showed me a good angle and I drew the bow back to anchor. Seems like I didn't dally there very long and the arrow was through the side of the hog. This Shelton is about 62 lbs. at my draw and throws a heavy arrow with atthority. I heard the Delta crunch through ribs.
The pig ran but not hard, he seemed sick immediatly. I knew he wouldn't be far so I lowered my bow and climbed down. Since it was nearly dark I put on my headlamp and picked up the trail. After about 30 yards I started finding copious amounts of blood where the pig had just been standing around leaking..

After another 30 yards of good blood I came on the pig. He was still alive but not very mobile. I eased around until I had a broadside shot and finished the job with a second arrow.

Nice one Pat.
Can't wait to see what you bring home from your whitetail season.
I never get tired of seeing your threads! Well done, Pat
Another Good one.
:notworthy: ..... By now you must need to buy another freezer
I was going to say it doesn't seem that the back quiver squeak turned out to be an issue, but I guess since you were in a stand, it was hanging on a limb close by. Congrats on another fine hog. You and Bisch seem to keep them pretty much in check in your respective locals.
WOW! You're a swine killing machine!

X2!
Not that anyone's too concerned with numbers, but Pat, may I ask your pig count this year? Pat's got more pigs than your local pork dealer! Way to go Pat!
Sweet pig. And great shot.
I'm wondering how many freezers you have!
Nice job, again. With all the hogs you stick, it's a wonder there are any left. Enjoy the bbq.
Another one, WoW....you gotta be getting sick of pork by now????????
A pig a day will keep the doctor away! LOL!
way to go.
Another nice Hog.....Well done..
Good Job Pat. Those pigs will be glad to see deer season come in I bet.RC
Looks like a pretty big hog, Congrats!!
:archer:
Pigs cringe at the sound of your name! Pigmaster for sure!
On the couple of places that I am able to hunt there's a lot of crop land. The farmers don't like the pigs as they are so prolific and destructive.. Me, I kind of like 'em !!!!
I give a good many pigs away so freezer space isn't a problem.
I don't know the count.. Too forgetful to remember, lol
Congrats Pat!
makin' bacon with a long bow..
Very nice!

You are to pigs what the small pox was to mankind! Congrats again sir!

I see that you are using a back quiver - you must have solved the back-tension/squeak issue....
Your Arrowmaster is gonna start feelin' lonely now!
Enjoy the feast!
Shoot straight, Shinken
