I have been pondering lately how most mechanical heads like the rage are not considered barbed .

I don't shoot mechanical broadheads, but I don't think any of them like or similar to the Rage would be considered as being barbed, unless the blades lock in place when deployed.  If they free float, they wouldn't function as a barbed head, IMHO,

I guess if the blade float and don't lock that make sense. I don't  shoot them either but there are some nice heads out there I would like to try but they are considered barbed. Which are illegal here in MN.
