How many who hunt with HH-bows use aluminum arrows.I have been shooting some 2016s and got the weight up to 625gr.they fly like darts.Might keep a couple in the quiver this fall.
I shoot 2016's off my 57# and 58# Zebra's and 1916's off my 48# Hill Ruffed Grouse
i shooting 2216's out of my Northern mist #80@28 and they fly awesome!
I use 2020's and 2018's out of my Pete George longbow. It is 64lb.@28in. The 2018's were for a recurve originally but they work better out of longbow.
Some of my 2020's are old Gamegetter Greens. I have hoarded my AO 2020's for hunting only. Actually it was Pete George who recommend the alum. arrows to me when he called to see how I liked bow.
I shoot a 2016 with a 145 gr. point out of my 55@27 Hill.Just like the way aluminum fly out of my Hill.I have tuned and shot carbon out of it.My Hill is one of my bows I've gone back to aluminum out of.Shot a 2018 out of a 60# Hill and 2020 out of a 65# Hill I had.
I just switched from alums and I will go back if this year doesn't work out. There is no probelm using alums they are great they can get you up to the weight you want without alot of extra stuff.
I feel guilty using aluminum arrows with a HH bow.I do want to make my first with a HH with a woodie.
I have been using 1820s with a two fletch configuration. I am starting to really like 'em
