Guys....I have been around for several of the launches of Asbell Wool products. I can tell you for sure, and with a bit of pride, that this announcement excites me more than all of the others.
A few weeks ago, Teresa called me and asked if I would be interested in an Anorak style pullover made exclusive for The Traditional Woodsman ( my website). She had the design and specifications already figured out.....most of my input was wise phrases like "Oh jeez...that sounds awesome!!".... :D
So here it is....The Traditional Woodsman Anorak! We are offering it initially in the Olive Drab wool (later will be Teresa's wonderful grey wool). It has the classic Asbell hood, well thought out to accommodate even a wide brim Fedora style hat. New in design are the beefy 1/4 zip style, which I find a great compromise between a straight pullover and the zippered jacket.
Also new is the Sherpa lined hand warmer pocket, positioned perfectly for when seated on a stool or treestand. The second set of pockets are identical to the well thought out pockets on the zippered jacket or pullover.
The Anorak is cut a few inches longer, and has a draw string/cord in the bottom hem. We have talked about this addition for some time....it will come in handy keeping the November winds out.
I apologize for the crummy pictures. I had intended to get some while squirrel hunting, but frankly it's to damn hot!
Teresa is shipping stock of these to me on Monday....it won't be on my website for a bit. Take advantage of that....Send me an email or PM, referencing TradGang, and I will do a flat rate shipping of $5 for the continental US. Price is $97, $102 for XXL.

The biggest difference is...1/4 zip...handwarmer/sherpa pockets...bottom hem drawcord.
Dang Looks Good! Don't suppose one can have too much wool?? That design is really one I could like a lot.....time to start making that Christmas list.....
Sweet!
Dang Nabbit!
I just got my wool zip and thought my life was complete....
Now this!
That looks great
Thanks
Hi--Roger what size are you ? Is this product built on the large size in it sizes ? How long is it? I am about 5ft.7 inches in my boots with short arms and am about a 2X in light jackets.
What size do you think I would need? What would be the approximate shipping cost to Ontario Canada ?
Hey Elf...I'm 5' 10", and about 225.....I have a bit of a summer gut right now. I wear 2XL T shirts usually.....but I take an XL in this. It is built roomy. The sleeves are cut long on purpose. I leave them as they are, as the extra length is useful in the cold.
I recently saw a Filson catalog describing their line of wool and how things fit. They have some stuff built trimmer, and some stuff more roomy. They call the trim stuff "Seattle Fit" and the fuller stuff "Alaska Fit". Not to steal their nomenclature, but all of the Asbell wool products would fall under 'Alaskan Fit".
thanks for info.
You know Roger I have a birthday coming up. Lol!
Just kidding. I'll be in touch.
Happy Birthday Matt! :bigsmyl:
Lol! I was only kidding buddy.
Looks nice. I would like to see pics of the grey when it comes available.
I will post up some grey as soon as possible

I do have a birthday coming up--two weeks from now I hit the big 70!!!! :scared: :saywhat: :bigsmyl: Wonder what the birthday fairy will bring me. I've been a pretty good boy this year--too old to get in much trouble. :biglaugh:
David....I don't believe for a second that 70 is old enough to stay out of trouble :bigsmyl:
Unless you're dead, you always have a birthday "coming up!" Right?
Will they be available in plaid anytime soon?
Skinnybill - They might, but our first run is going to be the OD green, followed by grey. I am trying hard not to give Teresa any "specials" to do.

would rather see a big side entrance pocket in back than anything on the belly in front,, in front your bow string can hit it when its loaded up..... looks good for kicking around not hunting though.
I like the pockets in the front...

The lower pockets are positioned so as NOT to interfere with your bowstring. We have put them on 100's of garments, no problem. The upper pocket is designed as a hand warmer pocket, not a storage spot.

yeah I could be wrong its one of those things I'd have to try I guess, if hundreds where sold like this to bow hunters then the majority speaks its a good design.
I just ordered a grey version. They look warm!
I would like to see an Anorak without the draw cord on the bottom-the front a little shorter and the back a little longer. And of course in Timber Ghost,Evening Stand and Silent Stalker. My 2cents worth. I know I'm picky!
Very nice!
I have the Asbell hooded pullover that I can't wait to wear this winter.
I would REALLY love to see heavy weight wool pants made by Theresa and offered for sale in the near future. Any chance of that happening?
I just received my Anorak and it is really awesome and very well thought out and designed! I can't wait to wear it this fall.
Thanks Roger for the good service and for shipping it out quickly. It fits perfect. And thanks for recommending the right size for me.
Those look pretty awsome I like the looks of the hand warmer pockets as I don't like to have bulky gloves on when it gets cold. My only question is where's Daisy? Can't believe you took that many pictures without her in at least one of them.
The hand warmer pockets seem to be just right, especially when sitting down. But it is too hot to sit in my garage very long with it on right now! I like that the sleeves are a little long, like on the other wool pullovers I have that Teresa Asbell has made. When walking or standing, the sleeves hang down enough to block the cold and wind. I don't need gloves unless it's really cold.
Thank you for the kind words. The Anorak has become a bit of a success...thanks!!
