Pat and RC are still "walking" and the deer season is not quite open down in the deep south so you guys will have to put up with a couple more of my "wading" trips :biglaugh:
Went last night to the Ward Bayou frog pond, its a short trip from the house, about 8 to 9 miles.
Left the house at around 8:30 pm and was back home before 10, just a short trip but had some success.

MMMMMM.... GOOD EATING!
Very nice!!!
Funny you started your post the way u did. I saw your title and instantly thought, you are the Pat/RC of frogs. GREAT JOB. I always look forward to your posts!!
Brian,
You pick up quick :goldtooth:
The Black and White pic's are to help the viewer, as the "Pitchfork" was very effective :saywhat:
"Pitchfork"????
well done!
A frog hunt is time well spent !!!
For some reason, our frog popultion is way down.. I suspect that agg practices are somewhat to blame..
Nice mess of frogs ! Darn fine shooting too..
Been a long time since I had frog legs. Haven't seen the real big ones like I did when I was a kid. Don't know if its predation or pollution. Brings back fond memories. Thanks for sharing. TonyZ.
Wading with a bow and coming back with delicous frog legs - where I am from we call that a valuable skill set!
Burp! Just finished a plate of Legs in black and white in keeping with the theme :D

Mudd,
If you missed our brother's "How To" using concrete reinforcing "fence" to make a devilish looking "pitchfork" head to screw onto your arrow for "margin of error" on shooting frogs, you need to do some research!
John, as usual: Great post! I think the B&W alleviates the carnage a bit and as a photography mentor of mine used to say, "anyone can make a color picture purty, but it takes an artist to make a statement in B&W!"
I think I read you loud and clear... still can't imagine there are any frogs left in your area!
Dave,
Very observant are these Trad Gang members :archer:
now I'm hungry.
Doc Nock I didn't misss the post of those wicked looking points, just what he called them..lol
Details, details, details... not in my wheelhouse of skills.
Thanks for bringing me back to reality.
God bless,Mudd
You don't miss much, Roy, so i was a bit confuddled where the question come....but if those things don't look like a devil's own pitchfork... and they seem to do devilish things to Ribbits.
You must be getting to be a better shot, John, as you're always claiming the "other guys" got all the hits and you missed... half dozen for a couple hours slopping around in the muck seems like a decent outing! :)
Dave,
I have my days :archer2: I'm waiting on the team now for another go at Boggy 2!
just out of curiousity, where is the how to posted? those are some nice looking frogs :) good job and congrats on the wade ;)
Snypershot,
Here's the "how To"...

Yumm. Congrats!
Ya ought to go into Production! :goldtooth:
For those still asking questions or commenting on the "Pitchfork" frog gigging point here a few lessons learned from this season.
1. Not my original idea just modified a version I seen on You Tube to a stronger size wire for durability and matching them up with the inserts for ease of use.
2. As for weight, it can be adjusted by just reducing or increasing the width or length of the heads.
3. As for Best size, it has proven out for me and the others I hunt with that a width of 2 1/4" wide x 2 1/4" long and the center point at 2 1/2" works best. We shoot through a lot of tangles and water reeds etc.. and the smaller head just hangs up less but is devastating when it hit :readit:
4. When you bend them, you will at some point use pliers to re-shape and spin test for trueness. This is important, if not true they will nosedive.
thank you for posting it. it looks like a devastating head...never had the chance to try frog legs but im open for it once if i dont like it...lol
