Ill have to post the story later but he was stalked to about 18 yds, and went around 130. First on with that hill bow.

Congrats!!!! :campfire:
Guys, unless the deer was quartering away and the shooter was in a tree, that is not a perfect shot. IMO
Contrats on the nice buck, Gio !
Congrats! I'm with Pat on this one... looks about 6 inches away from perfect
Looking forward to hearing the story.
Not to often someone gets a good stalk on a whitetail. Cant wait for details!
Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing your story!

out standing
Ok well my morning started off real slow, I hadn't seen anything till around 930 when I saw three does. After they were out of sight I sat back down in my stand and as I did I dropped my bow. By this time it was around 10:15 or so, so I decided I'd just stay on the ground the rest of the morning and just still hunt into the wind. I slowly walked for about an hour, made my way back up to the same three does without getting busted so I thought I'd try and closer, I was at about 50 yds when I first saw them and could see another deer with them kind off by himself. He was positioned on one side of a hedgerow with his head down eating. I got about 25 yds out when I saw where I had to be to get a shot which meant walking right alongside him about 18 to 20 yds out till he got to the clearing. Well the wind was still good so that's what I did, every time he put his head down to eat I'd scoot foward, and it went like that for 15 min or so which felt like forever till I could get a shot in that opening. Once I got there I kneeled down and waited for him to get to the opening which put him slightly quartering away from me. He never knew what hit him, when the arrow hit he never reacted, just took off about 20 yds from impact I saw the arrow fall out and the blood start to pour. He went a lot further then I thought he would on one lung and no liver but hey he went down quick.
Way to go sir!
Good job!

Well done. Ground hunting is the best.
Great accomplishment! Looking forward to details of the stalk. :campfire:
Congrats! Good Deer! Stalking is tough, seems like you did well!
Congrats!
Congrats, looks like a great shot!
Congratulations and "The Shot" did put him in your freezer!
My comment on the shot placement was not to diminish Gio's accomplishment at all.. And I appoligize if any feelings were hurt..
I just didn't want any new hunters thinking that was the ideal spot to shoot for even though it did put the deer down.
Gio- my apologies as well. Any shot that puts one on the ground is a good shot and I wasn't meaning to dimish your success. Like Pat, I was quick to comment that it wasn't truly a perfect shot- hoping to impress on any "new" hunters that their "aiming" point should not be where you hit yours. I hope you agree...
