Ground hog that is and yes that was where I was aiming. Walking in to my stand he ran for his hole which was only 12 yards from me. He made the mistake of given me enough time to get a hammer head on the string and then stood up. :scared: I think he wasn't sure if I was just an ugly cow or real danger. Every time time I shoot one in the body they bite my arrows in half so for now on head shots only.

All he did was fall over and quiver when 725 grains hit him. :knothead: Made a loud crack and that was it.
Nice shooting!
great shooting its always fun to have a blunt on the quiver!
So, you aimed for the eye and missed... Hitting him in the head! Nice...

Leave him lay in the field and feed the critters. :D
The next day I was surprised not to see buzzards on him but 5 bald eagles, 1 adult and 4 immatures.
I've never had one, but would like to try it. They eat nothing but vegetation, so should taste a lot like rabbit?
What do the guys say that have eaten them?
Nice shooting! The farmers will be happy, those g hogs are always tearing up the ground in their fields.
Bladepeek - Not the best table fare, they're stinky critters with many scent glands all about their body, do a search...
Great shot on that whistle pig!
Maybe better stick with turkey for Thanksgiving :(
I am glad I'm not the only willing to harvest these critters. Nice shot!
Nice shot!
They have wreaked havoc on our garden plants this year and we keep them on the deck to avoid deer. My wife insisted that they had to go after destroying the cilantro. I've gotten four of them in the backyard this year, but there is still one big one that has eluded me. And yes, they can run far even on a double lung, head shots are best.

Nice shot. Hitting him with heavy of arrow waslike hitting with a sledge hammer.
Looks like you warriors cut em down in mid charge. Nice work!
Good shooting!
Good shot.
Great shot!
When i lived down state we use to hunt ground hogs all summer. Great times and very challenging to stalk in on them.
Nice shot!
Great job!!
Taste wise I'd say close to squirrel, we always pressure cooked them and then fried they are on the bland side and can be strong depending on what they've been eating.
Nice job Terry
Nice shooting man!

Great shot!
I shoot them with broadheads then maybe a finishing shot to the skull with a Hex Head if they need it. I had a pretty good year on them but nothing since July. I guess I killed all the dumb ones. :)
good shot....tough buggers to kill, even with a broadhead !!!!!
Nice shot. Now I guess we will never know if there will be 6 more weeks of bad weather on Feb. 2. RIP Phil... :D
Delicious critters! Bone out, put in crockpot with carrots, potatoes, onions and a can of coke. Serve with some homemade biscuits, YUM!
I had one that tried to take up residence under my deck where it meets conrete sidewalk on the side of my house. Here is my answer to that. I also had to work on the ones trying to eat my entire garden.

I used to hunt them all summer when I was younger. Used to be great practice for honing your stalking skills.
Good shot!
Very awesome shooting. Great
Great shooting!
Nice shooting!
What do you do with it after killing it? Are you going to eat it?
Just read back and saw u write that u left it there. Don't want to be "that" guy, but if it isnt causing damage, you arent going to eat it, or utilize it at all.. why kill it?
I mean my opinion in most respectful way possible but it seems like a waste of a critters life to me. Just my 2 cents
Good job
I let them lay for the foxes. They are always gone within two days. Everything in nature has to eat.
Groundhogs are pests. I don't eat the mice I catch or the flys I swat either.
I've killed 243 with stickbows over the past 25 years, it's never entered my mind even once to eat one.
243!! Wow that's a lot of woodchucks.

The farmer wants them gone, they under mine the barns and other buildings plus he has horses and cows. I take out foxes when I get a chance also because I want more rabbits and turkey and I don't eat them either. I do try to wait till they have a good coat and give them to a fur trapper.
Small game is what keeps those long days without seeing big fun. I never go afield without some type of small game head.
Good shooting Terry!! Congrats!
