He shows up to my house with a bow that he wants me to help set up for him...no problem. He pulls out this beautiful Northern Mist Classic and hands it to me. I look at the specs.....70" 80# @ 28.....what 80#'s. He wants string silencers and to check the nocking point, so I go to work. I can't draw it, I can't string it, I can't even un-string it. Man I'm getting old. Well when we got done you should see this thing send a 2216 down range. I can see some pass thru's in the future.
Ron you are OLD
:biglaugh:
LOL!!! you just didn't want to show me up!!!!! i know you could shoot that all day!
Ken, is it a rocket or what?
Ron, its a pry bar first, then a bow. According to Drew anyways.
Casey in honor of you i have named it "Monster". YES it is a rocket!!! need to find some missiles for it though as all i have is 55-75 that just do not seem to fly well. Ron is fixing me some 2216 which really flew great and in a hurry!
Glad to know a young and strong Mountain Man like Ken! OMG! :scared: Fifty pounds is a "heavy" bow for me... :archer2: ...
:biglaugh:
I guess that I would have to agree.
Hey ron you know what OLD means>>> Wisdom!
Ron
Don't feel bad I'd need a depends to even read 80lbs at 28

:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :shaka:
No worries. Age and treachery can always prevail over youth and strength.
80# eh? Not even when I was young and eager. Whew!
Maybe with both feet braced against the riser and both hands pulling on the string I could get it drawn..... I did say MAYBE!!!!!
I sound like the Rice Crispy Trio even trying to pull a 60# bow... once!
Talk to me in 15 yrs Ken... then we'll see what you think of heavy bows! Course, in 15 yrs, you'll have to contact me thru prayer---hopefully! :knothead:
Old is when your Age exceds your draw weight .
Cheers from the Country that has everything except the Stanley Cup ....

Ron, at least he can do the draggin :readit: :readit:
Hey Ron...working in the ER I frequently hear people talking about how difficult it is getting old. I remind them that as far as I know, there's only one alternative and I prefer getting old ;) Every day on "this side of the dirt" that I've still got my mind (some people might argue that point) is a good day in some way.
Trust me I know how true that is and and see the positive side of life everyday  !!! But I still can't string an 80# bow...lol!!
Wow Greybark, now I am feeling really old :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Some day I'll have wisdom, til then, I'll be thinking about shooting an 80lbs Northern Mist :bigsmyl:
Hey ron w and ronp , I know exactly how you feel . LOL
I draw 50 lbs and am 74 , but then again I shoot a Widder and that helps . LOL
Cheers from the country that has everything except the Stanley Cup.....
Boy, all this "OLD" talk is making my back and shoulder act up. You old guys are the worst! :goldtooth:
Nathan
Ron, at least you have an excuse. I'm 33 and doubt I could string ken's prybar either. You might be old, but that makes me just weak.
Ron,
It is all perspective. You look young to me. At least in your photo- if it is from 20 years ago- well what can I say?
Gary
the pry bar was really spitting some 2216's that Ron W fletched up for me today! i'm not exactly a spring chicken at 43 ya know!
I knew that club would shoot those tent poles well..... :biglaugh:
