I'm hoping too see a big buck picture. Who will it be?
sawtooth shot a beauty yesterday morning here in South GA. and still in velvet.
It's still too hot for my fat butt to get in the woods. Maybe soon.

I'm heading out next weekend!
Define big?
Maybe it will be you Bob, Good luck!
Go gettem' Bob!
It wont be me, I don't even go out until the last weekend of October.
I think i might go sit for a look see on wendsday as we open tomarrow
I am looking for a nice doe first. Maybe a couple. I finally have time to really hunt this year and don't want to end it too soon. If the rain stops or slows substantially I may go out this afternoon. IF not, then one day this week. We shall see. I switched to lefty last fall so this might be my first lefty deer.

I know it's not going to be me! My tag went on a small one this year.
I aint gonna lie but I hope it"s me. I will settle for a 75# doe, just saying.
Kentucky TJ
x2 having to wait until October to hunt so it won't be me. Can't wait to see all the photos from hunts start rolling in though!

Yup, big guy in velvet.
Hey,
How about the first crew to Kenny M's?????
I've got a good feeling about that hunt.
:archer: :archer:
Yup, define big? For some that may be a 100" deer for others that may be a 140" deer. I believe it has a lot to do with where ya hunt. I know where I hunt any buck over 100"s is a good one, anyone over 110"s is a big one and anything over 125"s is a true trophy. My guess for someone over 140"s would be a Kansas member or maybe KentuckyTJ or one of our Iowa members! Shawn
hey, I've been trying....! 12 days so far(our seasons only been open 15) and counting.
Joe
I'd put my money on Real Buckmaster or Kentucky TJ.....
No fair, My season doesn't start till Oct. 21.....Oh who am I kidding, I hunt central Mass. Big buck?,
I did what I could to insure that I will see a monster buck.
How you ask?... at this point in time I have purchased just one tag, an antlerless only tag...lol
My hunting buddies want to hunt with me as long as I'm headed out with the ability to take only antlerless critters.
We are all positive that "Murphy" will run "Big boys" my way since they'll be 100% safe from me.
The real kicker is that they'd most likely be safe anyway...lol
God bless,Mudd
I am doe hunting until October 3rd

That's what I was gonna post.....
He's due for a biggin since he didn't get a buck last season. I'm sure he passed on some gooduns though, at least what I call gooduns! ;)
Are these guys big? If so....could be a NH deer. Most of these are at my wife's stand.

Like said before, guess size depends on where you are from. My vote for a good size blacktail will be Treekiller. That man knows how to hunt the blacktails!
I wouldn't want to be a big buck living in Woodford County KY, near the KY river!
I can't promise anything, and I doubt it would be the first, but I've got a spot that might kick out the biggest deer of the year (muley) if this incredible string of gifts from God continues...
Hey guys I think LITTLEBIGMAN might have just gotten the first big buck!

Game cameras have locked up more private property in the past years than anything else...all those pretty bucks that hunters want to kill but never see during the light of day...but it keeps the dream alive! Bragging rights! The skill of hunting is slipping away while the cameras click away. It's too bad. It used to be cool when a big one was killed, now its all mapped out for many and you just decide which ones one should hold out for and keep competition away because you know the potential. No more surprises.

Wow! One nice buck! So lucky----season here doesn't start til 1st wk of Oct.
Great deer Jim.
Thanks everyone for the votes of confidence. I have had 5 hunts so far and on the very first minute of the very first hunt had a beautiful 130" 18-19" wide 8 point come by.
I was still standing after pulling up my bow and strapping on my glove when a squirrel about 10 yards away starts going bonkers at something. I look at him and he is facing away from me on alert. He then jets up the nearest tree like his tail was on fire.
Well I bend and peek down under the leaves to see a buck bounding my way at about 40 yards. I straighten up and at that moment he comes to a stop just in front of me. With every move of his head the shreaded velvet swings and slaps back and forth. He then walks over to the fence hesitates a minute then leaps over it. Then he stops broadside at 12 yards and surveys the landscape up and down the clear strip next to the corn field. He then just walks off like it was a crisp October day.
What is unusual about this is it was 93 degrees and 4 oclock in the afternoon. I was standing there in amazement that I just witnessed that. I supposed something had spooked the deer and he was moving locations as you don't seen deer around here move under those conditions until later in the evening.
This farm is wall to wall corn fields and with no acorns it may be a while before I can let the air out of anything. Twice now I have seen corn stalks out in the middle of the field being thrashed back and forth as they are trying to chew the corn off the cobs. The little buggers don't have to come out of there very often. I did have a set besides a small pond they where visiting every night but the trail cams didn't reveal any big bucks.
Good luck to all this season and it sure is good to be back up the tree.
TJ

Follow the 5 pines thread! Jim includes us on every detail!
Nice buck Jim!!! The early bucks are nice to have mounted their hair is short the coat is nice and the muscles really show. Their necks are starting to get big. I sure am getting ready. Any buck is a nice one. I just happen to have a couple spotted with big horns!!!! LOL!!
I've got a big buck picture!!!!! Found the sheds from him last year. Like Barry says, "these are industrial strength." Palmated, heavy main beam and long tines. A lot of them! Don't know how to post pics so guess all of you will have to wait until I kill him!!!!!!!!!
