Missouri archery season opens in the morning. Are you ready for it? It's been really hot and dry here for about 2 months. Sign is hard to read, can't tell yet how good the acorn crop is this year. I'm thinking the spring might be a good spot in the morning as I know they are coming in to water there. The corner of the corn field looks ok too.
How about you guys?
Good luck Dan and all you Missouri fellows.
Im pumped. I have a few spots in mind as well. acorns are sparse at most of my spots...we'll see how it goes!
I am skipping the morning hunt as I have other obligations I want to attend to.
I'll play a late afternoon hunt by ear..see which way the wind blows.
God bless,Mudd
Good luck Dan, I plan on being in a tree tomorrow morning too.
You lads leave a few for seed. Good luck all. Hap
Church in the morning, but afternoon I have a date with a deer. Good luck all.
Good Luck everyone, Leave one deer or so for me.
I'm with Charlie... church, then deer....hopefully!
Good luck all!

Why yes I am. 6am church and then the woods.
Best of luck to all....I'll be out there in 2 weeks.

First opener I have missed in 5 years. Got temporarily activated for training july to october. Will be home at beginning of october tho and looking forward to it.
I went out behind the house yesterday morning and passed on the opportunity to shoot a little forky at about 15 yards. I was waiting to get a shot at the doe that was with him but that never happened. I'll probably regret my decision around mid-January but what's done is done.
I still had fun and it felt great to be in the woods again!
Darren
"SHOW ME" the backstraps :)
Good luck guys!!!

I used today as my opener.
It was raining when I got up so I did a mid-morning hunt.
Short video.

The woods were wonderfully quiet and I absorbed their peace.
God bless,Mudd
Looks like you're set Mudd.... Good luck buddy :)

Have everything ready to go. Gonna take a few days off first week of October. These recent cool mornings have me ready to go.
Best of luck all, Eric
Got out yesterday afternoon and dang near got carried away by the skeeters. They were little bitty beggars but there were a bazillion of them.
Got to Walmart today for some fuel cartridges for my Thermacell. No more mosquitoes for me or smelly bug dope. I hate that stuff... gives me flash backs.

The closest Walmart to you is Troy. That can be worse the skeeters most of the time
I thank my lucky stars every time I leave the Troy Walmart parking lot in one piece.
There's some scary folks around there.

Life in the way. My bow season opens Wednesday!

Please! ;)
Any body have any luck or encounters over the weekend? Man it was a beautiful Sat and Sun Morn down around Cherryville, Mo where I hunt. No sightings but the winter wheat I planted two weeks ago is up and looking good. Kinda spotty in one plot but it's rocky land on a ridge in the timber but it comes up and draws the deer. Both mornings were cool and a little chilly. GREAT mornings for early bow season in MO.
Got a story? Let's hear it. Watched a Goshawk land about 30 yds away and call several times. Pretty neat

These are the little plots I have. The first shot is the one that is coming in a little spotty this year. All photos are from last year. Hope it gets a little thicker.
