Not to self make sure alarm is set. :)
So I busted some public land yesterday same spot both mor int and evening. After the. Or ing hunt I scouted my way out and found a few acorn trees that were dropping. Marked spot on my GPS for the evening hunt.
When I went in for the evening hunt I was all settled in before 4 pm. At 4:10 pm I see a nice buck that must have been spooked that is running straight at me. Long story short a miss :( but I'm starting to notice when rushed I tend to not do so well with shots.
I saw nomire movement until just at sundown. She came from the power line. And straight to the acorns that were on the ground. She gave me a 10 yard shot. I hit her well we t down instantly I quickly put a follow up shot in her.
Using my 55@28" drawing 29.75 buffalo

Well Done!!!
Congratulations on a really nice deer. Great eating is in store.
Today was WI opener. The grandson and I saw 7 deer between the two of us.
It was a beautiful day and since I have way too much venison in the freezer from last year, I chose not to shoot, but just observe. Luke would love to stick one, but didn't get the opportunity. Maybe tomorrow. We were both tickled to see that many animals on the little 60 acre piece. It makes all the land management work all worth it.
