Title: Axis Traditional/Beman Centershot????
Post by: Bullfrog 1 on September 12, 2013, 08:53:00 AM
Now that these have been out for a while. What are you guys liking? I was a big fan of the original MFX classic. I am shooting GT trads now they fly great with my setup but are no where near as durable. Thanks.   BILL

Bill -

I shoot the Beman Centershot arrows and have bounced them all over the place and have had heavy impact to them while in the target. I have not managed to break one yet. They seem to be a very durable arrow. I also really like break-off 50/75 grain brass inserts that are provided.

Axis trads are the closest thing you'll get to the MFXs.  The Centershots are fatter and a lighter gpi but still good arrows.

I personally don't feel that the new axis traditional shafts are as durable or have the same quality as the discontinued MFX shafts.     :dunno:

They don't.  The MFX have a thicker wall and higher GPI.  I love the MFX, I think Beman simply cheaped out by dropping them.

I have both. I honestly think easton could do better on the finish of both arrows. They seem to fade and come off easy. From shooting ware. I will be selling 23 axis trads soon since they are too weak for my set up.

The Centershots are great performance wise, but yes, the wood grain finish rubs off, exposing the black shaft underneath. I'm thinking of going to the GT Trads.

Beman didn't drop the MFX. If  you buy the Bonecollector shafts they are nothing more than a black MFX with a new name. I've got two dozen and they are just fine.

I loved the MFX but I switched to the Traditional this season.

Even though I loved the MFX, I used to regularly chip the finish off the MFX shafts as I shoot a lot. I shoot at least as much with the new Axis Trad and have yet to chip the finish on even one. I don't know how or why but the new Trad is far more durable in my experience. This is the only arrow I'll use now and I have a few dozen of the MFX arrows made up and collecting dust.

I won't allow the "Bone Collector" logo in my house...but that's my decision based upon information I've been provided but keep to myself.
