Ok I was set to hunt a great little honey hole this saturday (opening day) and I had plenty of deer and a great 9pt I was guning for. I went to swap out memory cards on my camera and found an entire camp site built under my stand. Its to late for me to get in there and move my stands right now. I checked the camera and there were only a few pics of a scrappy liitle yearling thats not smart enough to leave lol...all the other mature deer have gone into hiding.
So my question to ya'll is should I just go ahead and hunt the area hoping the deer will still come around first light or just say screw it and wait a few weeks before I can get back out there to move my stand?
Is the camp still there?

For the most parts the components are there...in the same form they left it no.
FYI this land is a management hunt in small parcels of woods within city limits and the terms are that there are no destruction of land and no tresspassing. Only hikers, hunters, and nature watchers are allowed in these woods. No camping or recreational activities allowed.
If the people are gone the deer will be back right quick. Sounds like these deer are used to humans being around. They may change their travel route a little and such but if they were there before and the pressure is off, they'll be back. I would clean up the camp spot though if I were you. Nothing wrong with being a boon to the property and putting a good face on hunting.
What is left there? just there trash and junk or is it gear if its there grar call the powers that be and report it, they should beable to come in and remove it. As far as hunting it ??????????????
Well I have called the police and filed a report and they said they would check into it. Odds are nothing will come of it but I hope the people will stay out of the area. I didn't have time today but I will clean the area up next day I go out there and try to get things back to normal.
I am thinking of also going door to door in the area to find out if they saw anything or if it was one of them or maybe even their kids. I will just pile the belongings up and store them under the tent they left in hopes they come back and take their items out.
I was just so set on hunting this post and even had the deer picked out...just throws a big wrench into my whole operation lol.
Tell the police you think it may be a meth lab. They'll check out the spot real fast.

ROFLMAO!!
If it's in a suburban area it could be a homeless "home". I've seen tents set up in wooded sections of highway clover-leaves (circular on/off ramps). Could be dangerous if it's someone unstable or drug dealers as mentioned above, even though VM was kidding it is a possibility.
As far as deer I've found the big boys vacate an area after it's been disturbed unless it's a regular occurance. (farming or park activity) I'd look elsewhere for a while.
My thoughts exactly, Chuck. Most folks don't just leave tents and stuff up. A druggie den would likely be more hidden, or if it is where drugs are "done", they would just go someplace out of general traffic, do them, and leave.
I vote homeless guy.
