I decided to crawl up in a tree to practice "treestanding" for our upcoming deer hunt.
Right at dark a little pig came wandering by. He was about 18 yards when I shot and I hit him well.
Got down and found some spotty blood. I had taken a compass bearing on where I last heard him and went in the direction trying to pick up the trail in my headlight. After 3 or 4 false starts I had to keep going back to the last blood I had found. I would find a bit then it would quit.. I wasn't feeling good about the outcome. I stayed with the blood and drop by drop I finally found the arrow which was soaked. Then the trail got much easier to follow. In fact, another 30 yards found me standing over this little guy.. Gotta stay with the blood ! Northen Mist Shelton 61 or 62 pounds at my draw length. GT 55//75 and a Zwickey Delta.
