Title: Quivers??
Post by: Fleatrap1 on September 09, 2013, 07:00:00 PM
Had a bow quiver on my compound, now that I'm completely converted and madly in love with my stick bow I really don't want a quiver on it.  Any suggestions for a good carry quiver for hunting season???  :archer2:

Just to be different... Safari tuff.
But just to be honest I like a bow quiver and use a GN.

Well, if you have an interest in back quivers, Mikes Archery Leather and RMSG both build excellent back quivers for hunting.

If you never used a Back quiver then I would not recommend one until you get use to them. I'm lost w/o mine. I'll also second a good Catquiver 3.5 in quiet fleece. I'm not a big fan of bow quivers or side quivers.

Joe is correct! It does take some getting used to a back quiver so, a good Cat quiver or Cat quiver mini would work well.

Welcome to the crazy world of quiver selection.
I guess the best advise I can give is try a few and see what you like.
Ive tried several and for deer I prefer a small EFA 3 arrow (light and you dont know its there)
For small game a back quiver of some type or side quiver.
I had a bear center of the back quiver that I loved but it fell apart.
good luck choosing!

I like back quivers. The only way to get used to one is to use one.

I have the quiver caddy and mounted a Kwikee quiver to it, works good.

That absorkee looks nice.

I want to try using a back quiver, and don't want to get one too fancy in case its not what i want, but i don't want one so poorly made or designed that it makes me not like back quivers either.  can anyone recommend a good basic budget back quiver?  i figure once i figure out what i like or don't like, i can make or buy an nice one that IS what I want.  right now im using a safari tuff and can't say anything bad about it... except if i leave more than a couple arrows in it for more than a couple days the feathers get all messed up.

Howard Hill makes a very good, basic quiver for about $115. Good quivers don't come  a whole lot less.    HHA Quiver (http://howardhillarchery.com/archery-accessories.html)

Someone has three back quivers he calls budget ones he made that are very nice looking. He says they are not made for broadheads on the bottom end but it would be easy to make something to go in the bottom to protect from the heads going through. For his price he is asking, i think it would be a great deal for someone wanting to try a back quiver to see if they like them.
