I'm one week out from MO archery season, and Hoyt still has my Dorado.
I ordered it back in July thinking this would be plenty early. It arrived early August, and I couldn't wait to get home to shoot it. After a few days with it, I was certain it was drawing WAY too heavy(shop confirmed 5 lbs over marked weight), and they didn't even have the butts of the limbs finished properly (bare wood exposed to moisture!) So I sent it back.
They've had it for over three weeks now. My question is, will it even do any good to call and complain? What would you guys do? To make matters worse, my backup bow just lost the serving on it's string, so I need to order a couple new strings now too. :banghead:
Are there any decent trad shops close? If so I think I would just tell Hoyt the can keep it, then go and buy a new bow elsewhere.
Unfortunately not... I have been considering telling them to keep, but it would mean ordering another bow from someone else which would be a big wait-time. Plus it seems like the other bows I'm interested in are mostly coming in at a higher price range. I'm a lefty too, so that makes finding trad-bows even more difficult.
You're in Missouri, you could test drive a Black Widow!
Coach... where in Mo. are you?
I've got a 45# Pearson bow that I'd let you have at a good price. It's short (58") but would get you hunting.
Keep an eye on the classifieds here some limbs might pop up or put a post. Also there is a sponser on here called lefties r us they have a bunch of bows used and new.

What he said.
Widows impress me more than Hoyt bows. and they're not much more money.
Thanks for the input guys. I'll check out that lefties r us.
Charlie,
I'm in NW MO.
I would call Hoyt everyday till I got it back.
You bought their product it was their fault you had to send it back in the first place they owe it to you to either get your bow back to you ASAP or send you a new one.
Squeaky wheel gets the oil
They have lots of those Bows already made, tell them to just send you a whole New set up!! Shawn
Call 'em up!
id call em up and keep buggin em like some recent posts said earlier. you could also buy some inexpensive limbs in your draw weight from like lancaster or 3rivers and mate it to a leftie riser...it wouldnt be a hoyt or blackwidow, but atleast itd get you into the woods and then youd also have a good beat up kind of bow for bowfishing or small game hunting...or like others have said keep an eye out in the classifieds...hope this may help.
Guys thanks for the input. I finally got ahold of the them, and they finally confirmed that it should show up Wednesday. It was a frustrating experience because for weeks all they could tell me was they were working on it. I suggested just sending me a new bow or new limbs, and they assured me they couldn't (more like wouldn't).
Charlie thanks for the offer, and Gutpile, thanks for the heads up about lefties r us (My wife's not too happy I know about that site though!) I'll definitely be keeping an eye on that one. Somehow I missed it in the sponsors up til now.
Thanks again.
Coach where are you in Mo. Lots of us that could reserve your string or help with a new one.
