How does one determine the length of a riser on a takedown bow? Where are the measurements taken from to get the riser length in inches?
fadeout to fadeout
Sorry I am being a bit dense here.. Do you mean where the limbs and riser meet at the ends of the riser when assembled or at the end of the limb fadeouts when bow is assembled? Or possibly something completely different
Many thanks
Brian
I believe from where the limbs meet the riser to the other side where the opposite limb meets the riser.
In other words, take the limbs off and measure the length of the riser.
Hope someone corrects me if I am wrong.
Dan
Ocononee Dan. Don't understand your first sentence, but you got it right in the second sentence. Take-down riser length is measured from one end to the other without the limbs. On one piece bows, it's measured from the end of one fadeout to the end of the other.
I think it is like Dan says, simple as it sounds....overall length.
Just measured my W&W Exfeel target bow (takedown) riser. Without the limbs attached it measures exactly 25" end to end. It is advertised as a 25" riser. So you guy's must be right, measure it the same way for trad takedowns :)
Thanks
Brian
Yup...takedown is "generally" from the end of the limb pads straight lined to the end of the other limb pad.
Overall bow length is completely different for AMO standards, though...and that is not the question here...
