Well, I just got home from 9 days of elk hunting. My wife came up for a couple of days,(we celebrated our 34th anniversary with a dutch over chicken dinner). The rest of the time I was camped out alone. I only saw the rear end of two elk. I did have fun mind you, just no elk.... lots of tracks, wallows, droppings and some distant bugling. I did call in a husband and wife all the way from Ar. But no elk. Beautiful country and a great vacation.
It's now time to switch gears to mule deer, turkey and bears....
Joe
PS Good luck to all.... pick a spot and follow through...
well happy 34th anniversary. and good luck on the mule deer , turkey and Bears
Sounds like a success to me Joe! Great way to spend the anniversary. I have a wife who likes to do that kind of stuff too. Good luck on the remainder of your season. :campfire:
Any time out of the rat race under the stars is a success. A harvest is just the whip cream...lol

Wow! That's a pretty notable accomplishment, Joe. I know quite a few excellent elk hunters, and none of of them has EVER done that.
Congrats on 34 years. That's how long my first wife has put up with me this year, and I know what a blessing that is.
If your wife is anything like my "bride," she probably loved the Dutch oven meal and time with you.
Way to go... and congrats on a fine hunt!
Joe, sounds to me like you have the best of everything going for you. Congrats on it all.
