The new Traditional bowhunter mag has an article by Darryl Quidort. i think this may be the video from where that article came from.

Good company makes for some fun bird hunting.
that is way cool i wish we could hunt Birds with a Bow down here.
Very cool video. I haven't picked up my new issue yet, so I look forward to reading that now.
That was fun to watch! :clapper: Thanks for posting.
That was awesome!
That is AMAZING!! I would love to book a trip doing that even more than big game I think.
I miss doing that. I killed several Grouse & Ptarmigan when I lived in Alaska.

That video is great. I think I've watched it 3 times already
Grouse hunting would be a good regional tradganger hunt.
Absolutely loved it! Hard to beat.
My hunting buddies and I call them Stupid Chickens. They are all over where we elk hunt in Montana. Quite tasty too!!
That was a very entertaining video. Got a few laughs out of it.

Great video! The one that wouldnt fall out of the tree and the ricochet shot were pretty funny!
Great stuff, looks like a blast!
Too cool! Looks like a lot of very frustrating fun.
Where did this hunt take place? Can't believe how many grouse there were. Wow!!!! that looks fun
I believe that's from Darryl and Denny's DVD "Moose Country". Good Stuff!!
idk. but the grouse around here do not hang around like that.i would love to hunt them like that what a blast!! lots of shooting. it seemed there was enough opportunities on the ground i doubt i would even attempt tree shots. maybe cause they are not pressured they are like that? i just know here you get even close they bust out and you never catch one walking around like that. they get real panicky take off. yeah that be funner than big game hunting.. glad you guys enoyed it. im always surfing around youtube looking for cool trad videos to watch.
Great video!! Thanks for posting, I really enjoyed it. Looks like about the most fun
This post was a pleasant surprise to me. That grouse hunting took place in BC, Canada a few years ago while I was on a moose hunt with Michael Schneider. Believe it or not, I had a lot more footage of grouse shooting that I did'nt even use when I edited that piece for the "Moose Country" DVD. Grouse hunting was great fun! Not as "serious" as big game hunting. Glad you enjoyed it.
I enjoy watching small game hunting as much as anything. Mostly cause of the laid back fun attitude and all the shots.
Darryl, there ya go. You and Denny can make a small game video!! That be fun!
TTT
Can't sleep
Found this, it's a good one!
I just re-read that article the other day!! Darryl's one of my favorite writers...and its NOT 'cause he shoots a Widow!!! :goldtooth:
Awesome video wish I could go after grouse and they be that plentiful around here!
Grouse are making a huge come back in my part of the Catskills, although I didn't get a chance to get after them this year.
Looks like a great time.
I couldn't watch that without wishing I was there! Great eating game bird too.
It's been a few years, but this bird made really good dinner in elk camp. Grouse have been hard to come by where I hunt in the last several years, but they are great fun and great eating.

I like the idea of a Tradgand Grouse hunt gathering. Wonder where the best hunting would be for them. Obviously BC would be on the list.
Way cool!! I have shot a few in Montana and Maine .
Nothing like the sound of an arrow skipping on the road.
Nice video
Many years ago my late brother and I got into a bunch of them while on a Montana elk hunt. We named the spot massacre point.
They are real tasty fried in butter with salt and pepper... or just broiled on the end of sharp sticks.
Great video, thanks for posting.
We've had some just like that in Washington and Idaho years ago. What a blast!!
Mike
After watching that, I'd pay for a 4 day archery grouse hunt...that looked like a great time.
Sean B...glad to hear that,..I didn't see one this year in Rockland county but maybe it's just a matter of time. I had a blast in my youth chasing them either with a my father's old double or my recurve.
awesome video!!! I would love to do that one day
That was one coool video!
Funny to see this back up. Don't forget spring brings lots of fun opportunities.. Turkey, frogs, carp, hogs, and groundhog.
The mountain grouse we have in my neck of the woods are few and far between and danged clever. They normally flush before I see them. There is more than one of my arrows stuck out of reach in the trees. Extensive management and a lack of hunter interest in recent years has recently brought numbers higher than ever in my (relatively short) life. I can count on one hand the grouse I saw in 20 years as a youngster, stomping through these woods. In my last outing for squirrel this year I saw three in one outing. Something not even many "oldtimers" can claim. A bowkilled grouse is a fine trophy here, and I am in hot pursuit. Great thread, I enjoyed it
Thoroughly.
Jake
Thanks for sharing I read the article a while back it was cool to see the video. May have to try that this fall.
Seeing as I fear the deer numbers will be down this year .
Thats too cool. The closest Ive seen to that was in Allagash Maine during a moose hunt. I shot at about a dozen and clipped two. If I can draw another moose tag Ill be looking forward to grousing just as much.
That video is awesome! Looks like lots of fun but I would definitely be making a lot more arrows if I did that much.
Excellent video!!!! Now that looked like some exciting hunting.
Wow, thanks for sharing that video.
My hunting partner & I usually get several Grouse each Elk season. They make a nice dinner. ;)
