I bought a PSE Stalker last year and I love it but my riser started to split, so I need a tougher bow, preferably a takedown bow and around $300-$600, any advice????
You could get a great used bow in that price range. I would start browsing the classifieds.
I, too, would recommend you look over the classified section.
Did you buy it new? If so, I'd contact PSE and pitch a B.
Tell them you'll accept a deal where you send back the Stalker and they send you a Sequoia longbow in your weight choice. In my opinion, the Sequoia is a better made bow, by far.
Yea I bought it brand new but the riser is just wood and I think it would be fine for 35#-45# limbs but I have the 55# I was looking at the Hoyt game master 2???? It looks sweet any advice on that ????
I had a Gamemaster, not a 2, and wasn't able to tune it to shoot off the shelf. I wasn't interested in shooting off a rest, so I sold it. Maybe they've solved that problem in the 2.
Either buy a nice used custom or order a bow from Maddog Archery.
What's your draw length, and what length bow are you looking for?
VictoryHunter gives good advice
For $600 you could buy a new RER go to their web site. Their Arroyo is a fine choice and it would be a new custom. Shawn
I have a gamemaster 1. I got it off the classified here. The bow had putty build up on the shelf and a rug rest glued to it. It shoots good and very rugged. A hoyt dorado i thank you can shoot if off the shelf if you want to go that route. But with that range of money there is a lot of great choice's! I also had sky archery make me a custom set of limbs for the bow it shoots even better. Good luck with your search.
My draw is 29 in. I think 60 is the length I want and I shoot off the shelf
Classifieds, most bang for the buck!
Test drive as many bows as possible until you find what you like then stalk the classifieds here. Good Luck.
I draw a little over 29 and more comfortable with a 62 inch recurve and a 64 inch longbow. I would find one from the classifieds.
